Taylor signed with the Texans in May, his third NFL organization. With the team clearing out its depth chart -- Donte Moncrief was cut and Randall Cobb is reportedly being traded to Green Bay -- Taylor could stick as a depth piece among the team's wide receiver corps assuming he can return to practice with sufficient time left in camp. He has not recorded a reception in either of the last two seasons, but did log 37 catches for 466 yards in 2018 as a member of the Titans.

Browns' Taywan Taylor: Ruled out for Week 13
Taylor (neck) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Titans, Mary Kay Cabot of The Cleveland Plain Dealer reports.
With KhaDarel Hodge also ruled out out due to a hamstring injury, the Browns are down to only three healthy wide receivers on their active roster. As a result, the team will likely call up either Derrick Willies or Ja'Marcus Bradley from the practice squad. Taylor will hope to return in Week 14 against the Ravens.

The Browns acquired Taylor toward the beginning of the 2019 season, but the former Titan never really stuck in his new landing spot. The move, along with the waiving of Damion Ratley, locks in Rashard Higgins and Donovan Peoples-Jones as the two depth options behind stars Odell Beckham and Jarvis Landry.

Browns' Taywan Taylor: Limited role expected to continue
Taylor played just three games and had one target in 2019.
The Browns never settled on a third wideout, and they never really needed one as Odell Beckham Jr. and Jarvis Landry gobbled up almost all the targets (130 apiece). Taylor was given some run early on when Rashard Higgins was hurt, but he was a healthy scratch for 13 of 16 games. New head coach Kevin Stefanski may not change the outlook for the third wide receiver position. According to Scott Patsko of the Cleveland Plain Dealer, his offense in Minnesota used formations with three wide receivers a league-low 18 percent of the time, the only team to dip below 30 percent. Instead, Stefanski deployed multiple running backs or tight ends while with the Vikings. Cleveland's personnel currently suits that type of offense, so Taylor, who is under contract for one more year, could have a limited role once again. His experience as a returner could vault him into a special teams role, but the third-year veteran is not expected to have a significant offensive role.
