  • Taywan Taylor: Works out with Lions

Taylor (undisclosed) worked out for the Lions on Tuesday, Aaron Wilson of ProFootballNetwork.com reports.

Taylor missed the entirety of the 2021 season after reaching an injury settlement with the Texans in early September. It's unclear what the exact nature of the 27-year-old's injury was, but he appears ready to make his return to play after posting back-to-back seasons without a catch from 2019 to 2020.

  • Taywan Taylor: Reaches injury settlement

The Texans released Taylor (undisclosed) from injured reserve with an injury settlement Friday, independent NFL journalist Aaron Wilson reports.

Taylor would have been forced to miss the 2021 campaign since he was placed on injured reserve prior to Sept. 1, but he'll now be eligible to play once he returns to full health. The specifics of the receiver's injury aren't yet clear.

  • Texans' Taywan Taylor: Going to IR

The Texans placed Taylor (undisclosed) on injured reserve Tuesday.

Taylor was competing for a depth role with the Texans before suffering an undisclosed injury. The journeyman will now be sidelined for the entire season unless both he and Houston can come to terms on an injury settlement once he is healthy.

  • Taywan Taylor: Cut by Houston

The Texans are cutting Taylor on Wednesday, NFL reporter Aaron Wilson reports.

Taylor spent training camp competing for a depth role in Houston, but his efforts to stick to the regular-season roster have been unsuccessful. Though he appeared in six games with the Browns from 2019-20, Taylor has not logged a reception since 2018 when he played for the Titans.

  • Texans' Taywan Taylor: Activated by Texans

The Texans activated Taylor off the reserve/COVID-19 list Monday.

Taylor is competing for a depth receiver role with the Texans, so his return to training camp will be beneficial for his chances. He suited up for three games with the Browns in each of the last two seasons. Prior to that, he spent two years with the Titans.

  • Texans' Taywan Taylor: Sidelined to begin camp

Taylor was placed on the reserve/COVID-19 list Tuesday, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.

Taylor signed with the Texans in May, his third NFL organization. With the team clearing out its depth chart -- Donte Moncrief was cut and Randall Cobb is reportedly being traded to Green Bay -- Taylor could stick as a depth piece among the team's wide receiver corps assuming he can return to practice with sufficient time left in camp. He has not recorded a reception in either of the last two seasons, but did log 37 catches for 466 yards in 2018 as a member of the Titans.

  • Texans' Taywan Taylor: Resurfaces in Houston

Taylor (neck) signed a contract with the Texans on Thursday, Mike Moraitis of USA Today reports.

Taylor only appeared in three games with the Browns last season before being placed on IR due to a neck injury. He hasn't logged any receiving yardage since 2018, when he played in 13 games with the Titans.

  • Browns' Taywan Taylor: Placed on IR

Taylor (neck) was placed on the Reserve/Injured list Tuesday, Scott Petrak of The Chronicle-Telegram reports.

The specifics of Taylor's neck injury remain relatively unknown but it does not bode well for the wideout to return in 2020, as he'll have to spend a minimum three weeks on IR. He has only been active for three contests this season, receiving one target and no receptions.

  • Browns' Taywan Taylor: Ruled out for Week 13

Taylor (neck) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Titans, Mary Kay Cabot of The Cleveland Plain Dealer reports.

With KhaDarel Hodge also ruled out out due to a hamstring injury, the Browns are down to only three healthy wide receivers on their active roster. As a result, the team will likely call up either Derrick Willies or Ja'Marcus Bradley from the practice squad. Taylor will hope to return in Week 14 against the Ravens.

  • Browns' Taywan Taylor: Active for third time

Taylor failed to catch his only target in nine snaps during Sunday's 27-25 win over Jacksonville.

Taylor was active for just the third time this season, and the target was his first. After the top three receivers, there's little room for a depth wideout to make an impact for the run-oriented Browns.

  • Browns' Taywan Taylor: Moves to active roster

The Browns promoted Taylor to the active roster from the practice squad Wednesday.

Taylor's activation concedes with KhaDarel Hodge (hamstring) being placed on IR. The former Titan appeared in three games with Cleveland in 2019, but he was only targeted once in that span. He stands to handle a similar depth role versus the Colts on Sunday.

  • Taywan Taylor: Waived by Cleveland

Taylor was waived by the Browns on Saturday, Jake Trotter of ESPN.com reports.

The Browns acquired Taylor toward the beginning of the 2019 season, but the former Titan never really stuck in his new landing spot. The move, along with the waiving of Damion Ratley, locks in Rashard Higgins and Donovan Peoples-Jones as the two depth options behind stars Odell Beckham and Jarvis Landry.

  • Browns' Taywan Taylor: Limited role expected to continue

Taylor played just three games and had one target in 2019.

The Browns never settled on a third wideout, and they never really needed one as Odell Beckham Jr. and Jarvis Landry gobbled up almost all the targets (130 apiece). Taylor was given some run early on when Rashard Higgins was hurt, but he was a healthy scratch for 13 of 16 games. New head coach Kevin Stefanski may not change the outlook for the third wide receiver position. According to Scott Patsko of the Cleveland Plain Dealer, his offense in Minnesota used formations with three wide receivers a league-low 18 percent of the time, the only team to dip below 30 percent. Instead, Stefanski deployed multiple running backs or tight ends while with the Vikings. Cleveland's personnel currently suits that type of offense, so Taylor, who is under contract for one more year, could have a limited role once again. His experience as a returner could vault him into a special teams role, but the third-year veteran is not expected to have a significant offensive role.

  • Browns' Taywan Taylor: Inactive Monday

Taylor (coach's decision) is inactive for Monday's game against the 49ers.

Taylor has only been active for three games this season, and in those contests he primarily played on special teams. The third-year pro's absence doesn't carry significant fantasy repercussions.

  • Browns' Taywan Taylor: Targeted once in win

Taylor did not catch his lone target in Monday's 23-3 win over the Jets.

Taylor was inactive in Week 1 and, regarding offensive production, might as well have been inactive for Week 2. The former Titan was an interesting pickup during roster cuts but hasn't established himself in Cleveland yet. It's probably unfair to expect too much after two weeks in a new offense on a team with the likes of Odell Beckham and Jarvis Landry, but things aren't likely to improve once Antonio Callaway returns from his four-game suspension.
