Bowser (Achilles) was activated to the 53-man roster Tuesday. Bowser was designated to return from IR on Oct. 12, and his 21-day window to return was nearing its end. Although he has been practicing with the team, it's still unclear whether he'll be available for Monday's game with the Saints. When he does officially suit up for the first time this season, it'll be a big boost to a Ravens linebacker corps that has dealt with multiple injuries this season, which has also led to the recent acquisition of Roquan Smith.... Ravens' Tyus Bowser: Return to active roster imminent
The Ravens are expected to activate Bowser (Achilles) from the reserve/PUP list Wednesday, Clifton Brown of the team's official site reports. Bowser will re-join Baltimore's 53-man roster in the near future after being designated to return Oct. 12. The 27-year-old has been working his way back from a torn Achilles suffered in last year's regular-season finale, and his first opportunity to play again will come next Monday against the Saints. Bowser totaled career highs in sacks (seven) and tackles (59) last season, and he should help bolster the Ravens' depleted pass-rushing unit when healthy.... See More ... See Less -
Ravens' Tyus Bowser: Back at practice
The Ravens designated Bowser (Achilles) for return to practice Wednesday, Clifton Brown of the team's official site reports. Bowser is working his way back from a torn Achilles suffered during the 2021 regular-season finale. He now has 21 days to practice without counting against the active roster, and the Ravens can fully remove him from the PUP list at any point in that span.... See More ... See Less -
Ravens' Tyus Bowser: Could be back sooner than later
The Ravens coaching staff believes that Bowser (Achilles) will be available to play shortly after returning from the PUP list following Week 4, Jeff Zrebiec of The Athletic reports. Bowser has been recovering from a torn Achilles suffered in last year's regular-season finale, leading to his placement on Baltimore's PUP list in late August. As a result, the Ravens have been extremely shorthanded at outside linebacker with rookie David Ojabo (Achilles) set to miss the first half of the regular season while recovering on PUP. Bowser recorded a career-high 59 tackles and seven sacks over 17 contests in 2022, and his quick return could make a major impact behind current starters Odafe Oweh and Justin Houston.... Ravens' Tyus Bowser: Shifts to reserve/PUP list
The Ravens placed Bowser (Achilles) on the reserve/PUP list Friday. Bowser tore his Achilles during the Ravens' regular-season finale this past January and will be forced to miss at least the first four games of the 2022 regular season. The 2017 second-round pick emerged as a regular starter last season and projects to regain that role once fully healthy.... See More ... See Less -
Ravens' Tyus Bowser: On track for training camp
Coach John Harbaugh said Bowser (Achilles) "will be back for training camp", Todd Karpovich of SI.com reports. Bowser suffered a torn Achilles during the Ravens' regular-season finale, so it's encouraging that he's still on track to to participate in at least some drills at the start of training camp. After having emerged as a regular starter in 2021 and notching a career-high seven sacks, it will be notable for Baltimore's defense if Bowser is able to return early in the 2022 campaign.... Ravens' Tyus Bowser: Hits COVID list
Bowser has been placed on the Ravens' reserve/COVID-19 list, Clifton Brown of the team's official website reports. Per Adam Schefter of ESPN, Bowser apparently tested positive for the virus. This means he will need to clear the NFL's health and safety protocols before returning. With Justin Houston (illness) also on the COVID list, Jaylon Ferguson and Odafe Oweh are presumably next in line at both outside-linebacker slots.... See More ... See Less -
Ravens' Tyus Bowser: Makes most of role
Bowser had one tackle (one solo) and a sack in Sunday's win over the Bengals. Despite playing just 21 of 62 defensive snaps in the game, Bowser made his presence felt by sacking Andy Dalton. The 24-year-old is now up to six tackles and two sack this season, hardly warranting serious IDP attention. He and the defense will face a tough matchup with Seattle for Week 7.... See More ... Ravens' Tyus Bowser: Sees 17 snaps in home loss
Bowser, in a limited role, finished Sunday's 40-25 loss to the Browns with a pair of tackles, including a sack. The 24-year-old linebacker played sparingly but was able to record a sack in what amounted to a cameo appearance Sunday. Bowser played only a quarter of his team's snaps on defense in Week 4 and currently holds little to no value in IDP formats.... See More ... See Less -
Ravens' Tyus Bowser: Adds second sack
Bowser had two solo tackles, one sack and a pass breakup Thursday against the Dolphins. The rookie second-round pick hasn't played more than 15 defensive snaps since Week 2 but he still made his presence known Thursday. He may continue to be summoned in pass rush situations, but with the Titans on the horizon in Week 9, Bowser will have a tough time getting to quarterback Marcus Mariota, who has been sacked on just 2.76 percent of his dropbacks.... Ravens' Tyus Bowser: Second-round pick for Baltimore
The Ravens selected Bowser in the second round of the 2017 NFL Draft, 47th overall. Bowser (6-foot-3, 247 pounds) is a superb athlete (4.65-second 40, 127-inch broad jump) who was a very productive disruptor in a dominant Houston defense, finishing the 2016 season with 8.5 sacks and 12 tackles for loss in eight games. He should emerge as a starting outside linebacker in Baltimore's 3-4 soon enough, though that position would likely limit his IDP upside.... See More ... See Less
