Leon Jacobs: Waived by Jacksonville
Jacobs (knee) was waived by the Jaguars on Friday, NFL reporter Aaron Wilson reports.
Jacobs landed on the Active/PUP list to begin camp while recovering from a torn ACL that he sustained in September of 2020, but he'll now be let go under a failed physical designation. The 25-year-old recorded three solo tackles across three games prior to suffering his injury last year.

Jacobs (knee) suffered a season-ending torn ACL during Thursday's loss to the Dolphins, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
Jacobs had to be carted off the field Thursday, and Friday's MRI confirms a near worst-case scenario for the third-year pro. Jacksonville's defense has surrendered an average of 109 rushing yards per contest through three weeks, and the loss of Jacobs stands to further detract from the front seven's ability to stop the run. Cassius Marsh and Dakota Allen appear in line to handle increased defensive snaps going forward.

Jaguars' Leon Jacobs: Out for remainder of TNF
Jacobs (knee) was carted off the field during Jacksonville's first defensive drive of the game and he will be unable to return Thursday night against the Dolphins, John Reid of The Florida Times-Union reports.
This development thins out the middle of the Jaguars defense, forcing Cassius Marsh and Dakota Allen into more prominent roles alongside remaining starting linebackers Myles Jack and Joe Schobert. Myles Gaskin chewed up Jacksonville's defense for 35 rushing yards on the opening drive as Miami went down for an immediate touchdown, and now the going may get even tougher for the Jaguars' front seven with the recent injury to Jacobs.

Jaguars' Leon Jacobs: Starts seven games in 2019
Jacobs had 42 tackles (31 solo), two sacks and one pass defensed in 14 games this season.
The 24-year-old missed two games with a hamstring injury as Jacksonville dealt with a multitude of linebacker injuries overall, but Jacobs was able to work in a rotational role for most of the season. The 2018 seventh-round pick likely will enter training camp in line for a similar role next season.
