  • Steelers' Elandon Roberts: Tops 100 tackles in 2023

Roberts logged 101 tackles (68 solo), including 2.5 sacks, while recording two pass defenses over 16 games during the 2023 season. Roberts joined the Steelers on a two-year deal ahead of the 2023 campaign, and he topped 100 tackles for a second consecutive season. He led the team in tackles by a significant margin, as no other Steeler had over 68 tackles. Roberts will presumably remain in Pittsburgh in 2024 and should have a chance to play a prominent role once again.

  • Steelers' Elandon Roberts: Practices in full

Roberts (pectoral) was a full participant in Thursday's practice, Teresa Varley of the Steelers' official site reports. Roberts has been battling a pectoral injury over the last week or so, but after a full practice session Thursday, it seems as if he's been able to move past the issue. The eighth-year linebacker has recorded 101 total tackles, including 10 tackles for loss, in 16 appearances this season, and he'll look to add to those totals in Sunday's wild-card outing in Buffalo while helping make up for the absence of T.J. Watt (knee).

  • Steelers' Elandon Roberts: Cleared from injury report

Roberts (groin) logged a full practice Thursday and will play Saturday against the Colts, Brooke Pryor of ESPN.com reports. • Steelers' Elandon Roberts: Status for Thursday in question

Roberts' (groin) status is in flux for Thursday's game against the Patriots, Alan Saunders of SteelersNow.com reports. Roberts suffered the injury in Sunday's loss to the Cardinals, and although he attempted to return to the game, he ultimately had to exit for good. With the Steelers on a short week, it may be an uphill battle for the veteran linebacker to suit against New England on Thursday night.

  • Steelers' Elandon Roberts: Leads team in tackles

Roberts recorded six tackles (four solo) in Sunday's 16-10 win over the Bengals. Roberts once again led the team in tackles in Week 12, though the numbers weren't as eye-popping. With Cole Holcomb (knee) and Kwon Alexander (Achilles) both done for the season, the interior linebacker has a clear path to a productive conclusion to the 2023 campaign.

  • Steelers' Elandon Roberts: Signing with Steelers

Pittsburgh is signing Roberts to a two-year contract Thursday, Cameron Wolfe of NFL Network reports. Roberts racked up career numbers with the Dolphins last season, surpassing the century mark in terms of tackles while notching 4.5 sacks in 17 regular-season games. Heading into his age-29 season, Roberts seems like an ideal fit to shore up a key role in Pittsburgh's linebacker corps.

  • Dolphins' Elandon Roberts: Career numbers in contract year

Roberts racked up 102 tackles (68 solo) and 4.5 sacks across 17 regular-season games with the Dolphins in 2022. Roberts eclipsed 100 tackles for the first time in his career while also notching a new high in terms of sacks while on a one-year deal with Miami in 2022, so it's conceivable that new defensive coordinator Vic Fangio could want him back for 2023. The 28-year-old has spent the last three seasons with the Dolphins and would bring some veteran consistency to a relatively young linebacker corps if he's re-signed.

  • Dolphins' Elandon Roberts: Notches another sack Week 17

Roberts posted 10 tackles (seven solo), including one sack, in Sunday's 23-21 defeat versus New England. Roberts matched his season high in tackles while also logging his second sack in as many games. This sack also ended the Patriots first drive of the second quarter, as the 28-year-old linebacker brought down quarterback Mac Jones for a 12-yard loss on third down. Roberts also logged one of his seven solo tackles on special teams, and he has played 113 of his 729 total snaps in this phase over 16 games. He has now accumulated career highs in both tackles (103) and sacks (4.5) this season.

  • Dolphins' Elandon Roberts: Paces team in tackles Sunday

Roberts recorded seven tackles (six solo) during Sunday's 39-17 win over the Browns. Roberts finished as the Dolphins' leading tackle despite playing just a season-low 40 percent of the team's defensive snaps. The 28-year-old inside linebacker has now logged 372 of his 433 total snaps on defense this season, so it's likely his limited playing time Sunday was largely due to the blowout nature of this win. Roberts should continue to serve as one of Miami's top tacklers against the Texans following the team's Week 11 bye.

  • Dolphins' Elandon Roberts: Placed on IR

The Dolphins placed Roberts (knee) on injured reserve Thursday. Roberts isn't expected to return this season, even in the event that the Dolphins secure a playoff berth and go on a run. Kamu Grugier-Hill will be a candidate to see a sharp uptick in defensive snaps with Roberts out.

  • Dolphins' Elandon Roberts: All clear Sunday

Roberts (chest) is officially active for Sunday's game against the Patriots. Roberts missed last week's game against the Chiefs with the chest issue, but after practicing in a limited capacity this week, he gained the medical clearance needed to play. The Dolphins' linebacking corps will be at full strength for the contest, as Roberts, Jerome Baker (back) and Kyle Van Noy (hip) are all active.

  • Dolphins' Elandon Roberts: Inactive for Week 14

Roberts won't play in Sunday's game against the Chiefs due to a chest injury. Roberts suffered the chest injury in the first quarter of last week's win over the Bengals, and the injury will force him to miss more time. The Miami linebacking corps is a bit thin Sunday, as Kyle Van Noy (hip) joined Roberts on the inactives list. In Roberts' stead, look for an increased role given to Calvin Munson and Kamu Grugier-Hill at inside linebacker for Sunday's game.

  • Patriots' Elandon Roberts: Scores in loss

Roberts had a 38-yard touchdown reception and a tackle during Sunday's 27-24 loss to the Dolphins. Roberts tied up the score late in the third quarter, slipping out from his fullback spot and into the flat for a 38-yard catch-and-run. It was both his first career reception and touchdown. His value as a FB/LB is low heading into the Wild Card round against Tennessee, but don't be surprised if a Patriots team struggling to find rhythm on offense resorts to some further trickery.
