Jaguars' Arik Armstead: Landing in Jacksonville
The Jaguars are slated to sign Armstead (knee), Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
Armstead, whose deal is reportedly for three years and $51 million, per Adam Schefter of ESPN, immediately becomes a linchpin of Jacksonville's defensive front, fixing a huge need for the team along the interior of the defensive line. The 30-year-old is recovering from surgery undergone to address a torn meniscus, which he played through during the 49ers' postseason run.

Arik Armstead: Release made official
Armstead (knee) was released by the 49ers on Wednesday.
Releasing Armstead will save the team $18 million in cap space in 2024. The 49ers were interested in retaining the veteran defensive tackle, but they will go their separate ways after failing to agree on a restructured deal. Armstead is recovering from surgery on a torn meniscus through which he played during the postseason, but he's expected to have a robust market in free agency nonetheless. San Francisco agreed to a trade for Texans defensive tackle Maliek Collins to help fill the hole created by Armstead's departure.

49ers' Arik Armstead: Set to be released by San Francisco
The 49ers are expected to release Armstead (knee) in the coming days, Jordan Schultz of BleacherReport.com reports.
Armstead is entering the final year of his five-year, $85 million deal and carries a 2024 cap hit of greater than $28.3 million, third-highest on the 49ers. By designating Armstead as a post-June 1 cut, the Niners would clear over $18 million in cap space, leaving behind $10.3 million in dead money. The 30-year-old missed five more games in 2023 after missing eight the previous season. He has just 14.5 sacks since recording 10.0 in 2019.

49ers' Arik Armstead: Clear for Super Bowl
Armstead (foot/knee) doesn't have an injury designation on the 49ers' final injury report ahead of Sunday's Super Bowl matchup with the Chiefs.
After back-to-back limited practices to start the week, Armstead logged a full workload Friday. Barring any setbacks with his foot and knee injuries, he should take on his usual role on the interior defensive line.
