Minter played on 93 percent of the defensive snaps (57) during the narrow win, checking in tied for second in tackles with cornerback Pierre Desir. Buccaneers' Kevin Minter: Likely bound for starting role
Minter is expected to move into a starting role at inside linebacker Sunday against the Panthers following Lavonte David's (foot) placement on injured reserve, Greg Auman of The Athletic reports.
Minter has typically seen most of his action on special teams this season while serving as the No. 3 inside linebacker behind Devin White and David, who rarely leaves the field on defense when healthy. Tampa Bay could rotate multiple players alongside White while David is out, but Minter projects to see the overwhelming share of the vacated snaps, which should translate to plenty of opportunities to record tackles.

Minter was activated from the reserve/COVID-19 list Tuesday.
Minter was forced to miss the team's Week 3 loss to the Rams while on the reserve list. In the Buccaneers' first two contests, Minter played exclusively on special teams and recorded a combined two tackles. He should be set for a similar role moving forward.

The Buccaneers placed Minter on the reserve/COVID 19 list Monday, Scott Smith of the team's official website reports.
Minter will not count against the Bucs' 53-man roster while he is sidelined. To go along with his special-teams contributions, he is the primary reserve behind starting linebackers Lavonte David and Devin White. If he ultimately misses Week 3, look for K.J. Britt to serve as the primary depth at inside linebacker.

Minter was placed on the reserve/COVID-19 list Monday, Rick Stroud of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
Minter either tested positive for the virus or came into close contact with an infected person. If he's merely a close contact, Minter will be available for Sunday's playoff matchup against the Saints as long as he continues to test negative. Minter's role will drop off significantly regardless, as Devin White will return to this lineup this week.

Buccaneers' Kevin Minter: Paces team in tackles
Minter provided nine tackles (six solo) and defensed a pass in the Buccaneers' 44-27 win over the Falcons on Sunday.
The veteran linebacker did a solid job while stepping in for Devin White (reserve/COVID-19), pacing the team in tackles in the big victory. Minter appeared in all 16 games for the Buccaneers this season, but the overwhelming bulk of his game action had come on special teams until he logged a whopping 72 snaps Sunday. Minter finished the regular season with 15 tackles (10 solo) and the defensed pass against the Falcons, but he'll be right back out there again in Saturday night's wild-card matchup against Washington with White already ruled out for that contest as well.

Minter recorded eight total tackles over 73 of 79 possible defensive snaps in Thursday's 20-14 win over Carolina.
Minter also logged 13 snaps on special teams (52 percent) Thursday. The 28-year-old took over for Devin White after he exited in the first quarter with a knee injury. Minter certainly took advantage of the extra reps Thursday after not seeing a single defensive snap in Week 1's loss to the 49ers. If White isn't able to recover over the Buccaneers' extended time off, Minter would likely be Tampa Bay's favorite to fill in moving forward.
