Bengals' Vincent Rey: Full practice Wednesday
Rey (ankle) was a full participant in Wednesday's practice, Paul Dehner Jr. of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.
Rey injured his ankle in the preseason opener and proceeded to miss the remainder of the exhibition slate. However, his full participation in Wednesday's practice suggests the linebacker is now back to normal, fully on track to suit up for Sunday's season opener against the Colts.

Rey (ankle) did not play in Sunday's preseason game against the Bills, Paul Dehner of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.
As expected, Rey missed Sunday's game after it was announced that he would likely miss the entirety of the preseason following a right ankle injury against the Bears on Aug. 9. With Vontaze Burfict suspended for the first four games of the regular season, Jordan Evans and Brandon Bell are both in line for expanded roles within the Bengals linebackers corps.

Rey has always seen his tackle count surge whenever Vontaze Burfict is out, and he could have been in line for more of the same this year with Burfict suspended for the first four games of the season. But that might not be the case this season - and not just because of this injury. The Bengals brought in Preston Brown -- who's been a high-volume tackler in the past -- and he's likelier to get that windfall than Rey.

Bengals' Vincent Rey: Tackles surge with Burfict out
Rey had 10 tackles in the season finale against the Ravens, giving him 85 tackles for the season, with no sacks and one interception.
Rey's tackle count nearly perfectly correlated with absences from Vontaze Burfict. Burfict missed the first three games due to suspension, and Rey had 28 tackles. Burfict missed three of the last four games with injuries, and Rey had 27 more tackles. In between, Rey had only 30 tackles, though he missed two games of his own in that span. Rey's upside is capped, as he's not a pass-rusher or pass-defender. If he's not racking up big tackle numbers, he's not particularly helpful as an IDP.

Bengals' Vincent Rey: Hauls in first INT of season
Rey made two tackles, one pass breakup and one interception Sunday against Detroit.
The interception was a nice bonus to Rey's fantasy value, but just two tackles is troubling. It wasn't for lack of opportunity either, as he played 52 of 64 possible defensive snaps. The Bengals draw the Ravens in Week 17, and the last time Rey played them he compiled 11 tackles (six solo). However, that was in Week 1, so Rey should still be viewed as a high-risk, high-reward option.

Rey (hamstring) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Browns, Richard Skinner of WKRC-TV reports.
Rey was knocked out of last Sunday's game against the Broncos with the hamstring injury, and there was no report of the linebacker being able to participate in practice this week. Carl Lawson is expected to see additional snaps off the bench in Rey's absence this weekend.
