Smith tested positive for COVID-19 and has been ruled out in advance of Sunday's game against the Packers, Jamison Hensley of ESPN.com reports. Per Jeff Zrebiec of The Athletic, with Smith headed to the reserve/COVID-19 list, Robert Jackson could draw a starting assignment assignment at cornerback in place of Smith.... See More ... See Less

Ravens' Jimmy Smith: Inactive for Week 14
Smith (coach's decision) is inactive for Sunday's game against the Browns, Jeff Zrebiec of The Athletic reports. Marlon Humphrey (pecortal) and Marcus Peters (knee) are both inactive due to injury, but Baltimore will also be without Smith, who remained home for the birth of his child. The Ravens will now likely rely on Anthony Averett and Chris Westry as their primary corners against the Browns.... See More ... See Less -
Ravens' Jimmy Smith: Receives questionable tag
Smith (neck) is questionable for Sunday's game against the Steelers, Jamison Hensley of ESPN.com reports. Smith practiced with no restrictions Thursday, but he regressed to limited participation Friday to earn the questionable tag. The veteran cornerback has sat out the past two games with the neck injury.... See More ... See Less -
Ravens' Jimmy Smith: Won't play Sunday
Smith (neck) is inactive for Sunday's game against the Browns. Smith didn't practice this week and will be forced to miss a second straight game with a neck injury. Tavon Young and Kevon Seymour could see increased playing time against Cleveland.... See More ... See Less -
Ravens' Jimmy Smith: Absent from injury report
Smith (ankle) isn't on the injury report ahead of Monday night's Week 1 matchup against the Raiders. Smith suffered a low-ankle sprain in practice in early August, but he doesn't have any limitations in practice ahead of the season opener. The 33-year-old will have the chance to carve out a role in the Ravens' secondary to begin the year since the team fears that Marcus Peters suffered a torn ACL in Thursday's practice.... See More ... Ravens' Jimmy Smith: Out Week 17
Smith (shoulder/ribs) is inactive for Sunday's game at Cincinnati. The 32-year-old agreed to a one-year, $5 million extension with Baltimore earlier in the week, but he won't be available for the final game of the regular season. Smith has sat out four of the past five games due to injury.... See More ... See Less -
Ravens' Jimmy Smith: Limited at practice
Smith (groin) was a limited participant at Friday's practice, Jonas Shaffer of The Baltimore Sun reports. Smith missed the Ravens' game versus the Cowboys this past Tuesday due to a groin issue. However, he appears to be trending in the right direction, as he went from non-participant Thursday to a limited workload Friday. Still, more clarity on his chances to play in Monday's matchup with the Browns will come once Baltimore releases its final injury report.... See More ... See Less -
Ravens' Jimmy Smith: Not playing Tuesday
Smith (groin) is inactive for Tuesday's game versus Dallas. Smith sustained the injury during last week's loss to the Steelers and will miss at least one game as a result. Tramon Williams (thigh) is also sidelined, so Davontae Harris, Pierre Desir or Anthony Averett should take over the nickel role for Baltimore.... See More ... See Less -
Ravens' Jimmy Smith: Draws questionable tag
Smith (ankle) is officially listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Titans. Smith has now logged back-to-back limited practices. The veteran cornerback sat out last week's loss to the Patriots, but it looks like he has at least a fair chance of limiting himself to a one-game absence.... See More ... See Less -
Ravens' Jimmy Smith: No practice all week
Smith (ankle) missed a third consecutive practice Friday and will be a game-time decision for Sunday's game against New England, Jeff Zrebiec of The Athletic reports. Smith has played through various injuries all season, but Zrebiec notes that this is the first time all season that Smith wasn't able to practice at all. Newcomer Tramon Williams will likely be thrust into a prominent role right off the bat if Smith is out or limited come Sunday.... See More ... See Less -
Ravens' Jimmy Smith: Active for Week 9
Smith (back) will suit up in Sunday's matchup with the Colts, Jeff Zrebiec of The Athletic reports. Smith's availability is great news for the team's secondary, as he came into the game questionable after not suiting up in Friday's practice. Look for Smith to handle his usual starting role at cornerback, but with T.Y. Hilton (groin) sidelined, Smith will be tasked with slowing down Zach Pascal and Michael Pittman who will be thrust into the starting lineup for the Colts in two-wide sets.... See More ... See Less -
Ravens' Jimmy Smith: Questionable to face Colts
Smith (back) did not practice Friday and is questionable for Sunday's game in Indianapolis, Jeff Zrebiec of The Athletic reports. Smith's injury status will merit close monitoring, given that he's started four of Baltimore's last five games. The Colts are expected to be without top wideout T.Y. Hilton (groin), a potential hint that the Ravens will have to focus more on shutting down the ground game than the aerial attack Sunday.... See More ... See Less -
Ravens' Jimmy Smith: Questionable with Achilles injury
Smith (Achilles) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Steelers. Smith has been practicing on a limited basis. The cornerback has battled through injuries all season, as he was previously bothered by knee issues. Baltimore will hope to have the 2011 first-round pick in the fold against Pittsburgh's deep receiving corps.... See More ... See Less -
Ravens' Jimmy Smith: Questionable for Sunday
Smith (knee) is questionable for Sunday's game against the Bengals. The veteran cornerback played through the knee injury in Week 4 against Washington and appears set to do so again Sunday. Smith has 12 total tackles through four games.... See More ... See Less -
Ravens' Jimmy Smith: Return to Baltimore possible
Coach John Harbaugh said Friday he'd like the Ravens to re-sign Smith for the 2020 season, Daniel Oyefusi of The Baltimore Sun reports. Smith missed Weeks 2 through 7 with an MCL sprain and finished the season with 30 tackles (28 solo), one sack and one interception in nine games. The Ravens have a plethora of talent at cornerback with Marlon Humphrey, Marcus Peters and Tavon Young (neck) all under contract for next season, but Smith -- who's spent all nine of his NFL seasons in Baltimore -- still could serve as a veteran presence in the secondary.... See More ... See Less -
Ravens' Jimmy Smith: Ready to face Titans
Smith (groin) was a full participant in Wednesday's practice, Erik Bacharach of The Tennessean reports. Smith didn't practice Tuesday due to non-injury reasons, and he's now shed any doubts about his health by returning to action without limitations Wednesday. The veteran cornerback is on track to play his usual key role in Baltimore's secondary during Saturday's playoff tilt against Tennessee.... See More ... See Less -
Ravens' Jimmy Smith: Clear of groin issue
Smith (groin) didn't participate at Tuesday's practice for non-injury reasons. Smith was active for the regular-season finale but didn't see the field since the Ravens were resting players with the top AFC seed secured. The 31-year-old has played at least 60 percent of defensive snaps since returning from the knee injury Week 9 and figures to be used similarly Saturday versus the Titans.... See More ... See Less -
Ravens' Jimmy Smith: Doubtful for Sunday
Smith (knee) is doubtful for Sunday's game against the Seahawks. Smith has been out since Week 1 though he did register limited participation in practice on Friday. If he sits again, he'd have an additional week to get healthy with a bye in Week 8.... See More ... See Less -
Ravens' Jimmy Smith: Won't play Sunday
Smith (knee) was ruled out for Sunday's game against the Bengals, Jeff Zrebiec of The Athletic reports. It will be the veteran cornerback's fifth straight absence as he continues his recovery from an MCL injury. Smith didn't practice again this week and could very well be sidelined through Baltimore's Week 8 bye, though the team hasn't provided an official return timetable.... See More ... See Less -
Ravens' Jimmy Smith: Out for Sunday's game
Smith (knee) won't play in Sunday's game versus the Cardinals. Considering the Ravens contemplated placing Smith on injured reserve, it's not surprising that he won't play Week 2. The Ravens' secondary is depleted enough with Smith out, and Marlon Humphrey (back) is also listed as questionable. Expect Brandon Carr and Anthony Averett to both have large roles regardless of Humphrey's health.... See More ... See Less
