After an opening ceremony that included three skydivers on parachutes, the Cowboys finally joined the party that the rest of the NFL is having with their first full-squad training camp practice in sunny Oxnard, Calif.

The cool temperatures in the 70s have been warmly welcomed by the players and coaches as they embark on a 25-day West Coast journey. The Cowboys do a light walk through for an hour every morning before an afternoon practice. Monday’s first practice was in shorts and shells.

Who's here: All of the 90 players are at least on the campus, including wide receiver Dez Bryant, who looks to be his normal self on the first day. While Bryant could be facing a possible suspension by the NFL or the Cowboys stemming from his domestic violence arrest on June 16, Bryant not only looks the same, but is practicing that way as well. He’s made a few nice catches, including a deep ball from Tony Romo that erupted the raucous first-day crowd.

Who's not: The bigger story of the first day consisted of three players who failed their conditioning test and have yet to practice. Running back Felix Jones, wide receiver Andre Holmes and safety Brodney Pool spent their first day of practicing with the strength coaches doing extra sprints. Jason Garrett said those three will retake the test and must pass before they are put back on the field. For now, they have not been moved to PUP (Physically Unable to Perform).
