How are Tony Romo's ribs?
That's the $108 million question in Dallas following the Cowboys 36-31 victory against the New York Giants on Sunday night. Romo will have X-rays on his ribs on Monday, according to the Cowboys official website.
Romo was sandwiched by New York defensive linemen Mathias Kiwanuka and Justin Trattou in the second quarter of the Cowboys win. Romo had to be helped off the field and ended up leaving the game for Dallas' final offensive play of the second half.
The Cowboys said Romo simply had the 'wind knocked out of him,' Romo was ruled healthy enough to return for the Cowboys first offensive series of the second half.
After the game, Romo didn't seemed too concerned with his injury, "It's just part of playing football," Romo said. "You take some hits sometimes and you’ve got to come back from it. We had plenty of guys do the same thing tonight, and it was no different."
It's a good thing that Romo didn't have to leave the game because the Cowboys rode his right arm to the win. Well, that's partly true, they also rode an opportunistic defense that score two touchdowns.
But back to Romo: The 33-year-old quarterback threw the ball 49 times against the Giants, the seventh-highest total of his nine-year career. Romo completed 36 of those 49 passes for 263 and two touchdowns. Both touchdown passes went to tight end Jason Witten who ended the game with eight catches for 70 yards.
Romo also had a nice connection with Miles Austin. The Cowboys eighth-year receiver ended the night with a team-high 10 catches for 72 yards.
