Nets' Cam Thomas: Back to bench
Thomas will return to a bench role in Saturday's Game 1 contest versus the 76ers.
Thomas tallied 46 points (16-29 FG, 6-8 FG, 8-8 FT) in the Nets' regular-season finale, as all the usual starters were rested. It remains to be seen what type of role he will play in the rotation in the playoffs.

Nets' Cam Thomas: Prolific scoring in finale
Thomas produced 46 points (16-29 FG, 6-8 3Pt, 8-8 FT), two rebounds, one assist, one block and one steal across 43 minutes during Sunday's 134-105 loss to the 76ers.
With the Nets holding out their entire starting five for the regular-season finale with the exception of Mikal Bridges -- who played less than a minute -- Thomas stepped in as the lead man on offense. The second-year guard concludes the season with four 40-point games to his name, with the previous three coming in a stretch from Feb. 4 through 7 amid a stretch where the roster was in flux following blockbuster trades of Kyrie Irving to the Mavericks and Kevin Durant to the Suns. When the Nets were at full strength, however, Thomas wasn't a consistent member of the rotation, as he had played just 16 total minutes in the Nets' previous six games prior to Sunday. Thomas may struggle to carve out a regular role on the second unit once the Nets begin their postseason series with the 76ers next weekend.

Nets' Cam Thomas: Will start season finale
Thomas will start Sunday's game against Philadelphia.
With the Nets resting several starters, Thomas will get the nod in the backcourt after picking up a DNP-CD in each of the last two games. The LSU product has flashed immense potential as a scorer, at times, this season, but his opportunities have been fairly limited of late. During a four-game stretch back in early February, Thomas averaged 38.5 points per game in 35.0 minutes, notching three consecutive 40-plus-point outings.

Nets' Cam Thomas: Zero points in five minutes
Thomas posted zero points (0-2 FG, 0-1 3Pt) in five minutes during Tuesday's 107-102 loss to the Timberwolves.
Thomas was a non-factor once again, barely seeing the floor in the loss. Outside of a couple of offensive explosions earlier in the season, Thomas has simply not been able to carve out a consistent role for himself. Looking beyond this season, it's hard to see him being anything more than a sparkplug scorer, especially given his inability to produce on the defensive end.

Nets' Cam Thomas: Scores 18 points off bench
Thomas ended with 18 points (7-16 FG, 0-4 3Pt, 4-4 FT), two rebounds and two assists across 28 minutes during Sunday's 119-106 loss to the Magic.
With Seth Curry (personal) and Royce O'Neale (rest) out, Thomas saw an increased role and made the most of his opportunity. The second-year guard is certainly capable of explosive offensive outings, but his role is too sporadic to trust on a daily basis. When he's played over 20 minutes this season (24 games), Thomas has averaged 19.5 points, 2.8 rebounds and 2.4 assists in 27.1 minutes with 46/40/88 shooting splits.

Nets' Cam Thomas: Plays just five minutes in win
Thomas totaled one point (0-1 FG, 1-1 FT) in five minutes during Friday's 124-123 overtime victory over the Timberwolves.
Thomas played just five minutes in the victory, all coming in the first half. After a solid performance Thursday, it was back to the drawing board for Thomas, as he basically fell out of the rotation once again. Based on what we have seen when the team is healthy, Thomas is going to be on the outside looking in when it comes to playing time. At this point, he is nothing more than a streaming consideration if and when the team opts to rest its starters.

Nets' Cam Thomas: Scores 21 points Thursday
Thomas logged 21 points (7-13 FG, 3-6 3Pt, 4-4 FT) and four rebounds across 26 minutes during Thursday's 118-113 loss to Milwaukee.
With a handful of Brooklyn's regulars sidelined for the first half of a back-to-back set and head coach Jacque Vaughn opting to bench his starters following a slow start Thursday, Thomas provided a massive boost off the bench in the second half and scored 14 points in the fourth quarter, including the Nets' final 10. Despite being a second-unit player, Thomas has played well of late and has scored in double digits in six of his last 10 appearances, reaching the 20-point mark three times in that span.

Nets' Cam Thomas: Only seven minutes in victory
Thomas finished Sunday's 102-86 win over Charlotte with four points (2-4 FG) and two rebounds over seven minutes.
Thomas barely touched the floor in the win, a worrying sign for anyone still holding out hope that he will be fantasy-relevant down the stretch. While he clearly has the ability to score the basketball, the fact he can't get consistent minutes does highlight the fact he offers nothing on the defensive end. At this point, he should be viewed as nothing more than a streaming consideration. However, as we saw Sunday, even that comes with some risk.

Nets' Cam Thomas: Goes for 22 points in loss
Thomas supplied 22 points (6-14 FG, 1-3 3Pt, 9-9 FT), two rebounds, three assists and two steals over 29 minutes during Sunday's 129-127 loss to the Hawks.
Thomas doesn't have a spot in the Nets' starting lineup despite being one of the most electric players in the league in early February, but that doesn't mean he can't produce, and he remains a reliable fantasy asset regardless of his role. He's now scored 22 points in back-to-back games and has averaged 25.7 points per game across 10 outings this month.

Nets' Cam Thomas: Drops 22 points Friday
Thomas provided 22 points (6-15 FG, 3-6 3Pt, 7-9 FT), one rebound and two assists over 30 minutes during Friday's 131-87 loss to the Bulls.
It wasn't pretty and Thomas was far from efficient, but he led his team in scoring in what was a night to forget for Brooklyn. The Nets were run out of the building by the end of the first quarter and we saw a lot of garbage time as a result. Look for Thomas to continue to be a streaky fantasy option unless his role changes.

Nets' Cam Thomas: Nice game off bench
Thomas recorded 19 points (6-11 FG, 3-5 3Pt, 4-4 FT), four assists, two rebounds and one steal across 21 minutes during Wednesday's 116-105 win over the Heat.
Thomas has now played between 18 and 21 minutes in his three games since moving to the bench after the Nets began incorporating their trade-deadline acquisitions into the rotation. The second-year guard has managed to reach the teens in scoring two of those contests, but he's shot better than 50 percent from the field in both of those outings, and it could be difficult to rely on the career 44.3 percent shooter from the field to continue doing that. Thomas still looks like a decent back-end roster option in 12-team formats, but because his contributions in the non-scoring columns are often scarce, he's probably a better fit for points leagues than category leagues.

Nets' Cam Thomas: Only 18 minutes in loss
Thomas racked up 14 points (7-12 FG, 0-2 3Pt), one rebound and two assists across 18 minutes during Saturday's 101-98 loss to the 76ers.
Thomas moved back to the bench Saturday, ceding his starting spot to a handful of new arrivals. After an incredible run of performances, it appears as though Thomas' stint as a 12-team asset could be at an end. While he did score 14 points, the fact he offers very little outside of points means a 20-minute role is simply not going to cut it in standard formats.

Nets' Cam Thomas: Coming off bench Saturday
Thomas will come off the bench Saturday against the 76ers, Christian Arnold of Associated Press reports.
Despite averaging 38.5 points across the past four games (three starts), Thomas heads to the bench, as coach Jacque Vaughn will give starting nods to four new players in Spencer Dinwiddie, Cameron Johnson, Mikal Bridges and Dorian Finney-Smith. Thomas still figures to have a significant role off the bench as a microwave scorer.

Nets' Cam Thomas: Keeps impressive streak alive
Thomas registered 20 points (3-16 FG, 1-6 3Pt, 13-13 FT), six rebounds and four assists across 33 minutes during Thursday's 116-105 win over Chicago.
Thomas saw his streak of games with at least 40 points end in this game, but he's still registered at least 19 points in six consecutive games. Given all the roster changes the Nets have gone through over the last few days, don't be surprised if Thomas remains in the starting lineup for Saturday's game against the 76ers, especially given how well he's been playing of late.

Nets' Cam Thomas: Claims third straight 40-point game
Thomas ended Tuesday's 116-112 loss to the Suns with 43 points (11-23 FG, 3-9 3Pt, 18-20 FT), five rebounds, three assists, one block and one steal in 39 minutes.
After emerging from obscurity to put up 44 points in Saturday's win over the Wizards before raising the bar with a career-high 47 points in Monday's loss to the Clippers, Thomas kept his run of red-hot scoring going in the second half of the back-to-back set. He was running hot early and finished with 24 first-half points, but the Suns contained him for the most part in the second half. Thomas ended up leading a late flurry for the Nets late in the contest, drilling nine free throws and hitting a couple of two-point buckets in the final 1:30 to get him to 43 points. In so doing, the 21-year-old became the youngest player in league history to score 40-plus points in three straight games, but his playing time and usage will almost certainly take a significant hit once Brooklyn adds trade-deadline acquisition Spencer Dinwiddie to the mix and when Kevin Durant (knee) likely returns shortly after the All-Star break.

Nets' Cam Thomas: Back-to-back 40-point outbursts
Thomas totaled 47 points (15-29 FG, 7-11 3Pt, 10-11 FT), four rebounds and three assists in 39 minutes during Monday's 124-116 loss to the Clippers.
Just two days after ambushing the Wizards with a career-high 44-point outing, Thomas upped the ante with a new personal best in the scoring column. While the huge offensive outbursts can't be ignored and are sure to send fantasy managers scrambling to the waiver wire, it bears mentioning that Thomas wasn't a consistent part of the rotation for most of January, and his performances have come while the Nets were missing multiple key scorers. Moreover, Thomas shot an unsustainable 59.6 percent from the field and 68.8 percent from three-point range between the two contests. Thomas may have at least earned himself a more consistent rotation spot in the wake of his two big games, but he'll likely be headed for a steep reduction in both playing time and usage once the Nets get new trade acquisitions Spencer Dinwiddie and Dorian Finney-Smith as well as Ben Simmons (knee) and Seth Curry (adductor) back in the short term.

Nets' Cam Thomas: Starting Monday
Thomas will start Monday's contest against the Clippers, Ian Begley of SportsNet New York reports.
After erupting for 44 points off the bench in Brooklyn's previous contest, Thomas will draw the start Monday against the Clippers. With the likes of Ben Simmons (knee), Kevin Durant (knee) and Seth Curry (thigh) all ruled out, Thomas figures to once again be in line for increased usage.

Nets' Cam Thomas: Erupts for 44 while Irving sits
Thomas notched 44 points (16-23 FG, 4-5 3Pt, 8-9 FT), six rebounds and five assists in 29 minutes during Saturday's 125-123 victory over the Wizards.
With Ben Simmons (knee) and T.J. Warren (shin) joining Kevin Durant (knee) on the sideline recently, Thomas had re-entered the rotation in the Nets' previous two games and averaged 20 points in 23.5 minutes between those contests, but he took his scoring production to career-best heights while Kyrie Irving (calf) joined Brooklyn's growing list of missing players Saturday. Simmons and Warren are both day-to-day and could be back in action Monday against the Clippers, but with Irving likely to remain out through at least the Feb. 9 trade deadline after informing the Nets of his desire to be moved, Thomas at least makes for an enticing cursory pickup, particularly in points leagues. The second-year guard typically doesn't contribute in the peripheral categories and can't be counted on to shoot as efficiently as he did Saturday, but Thomas has shown no hesitancy to put up shot attempts even in a modest amount of minutes.
