Claxton amassed 19 points (8-10 FG, 3-5 FT), 12 rebounds, one assist and four blocks over 38 minutes during Saturday's 96-88 loss to the 76ers in Game 4 of the Eastern Conference Quarterfinals.
Claxton took advantage of the fact Joel Embiid (knee) was missing, putting together a 19-and-12 double-double and adding a game-high four blocks. Despite the loss, Claxton put a bow on what has been a breakout season. He finished just outside of second-round value in nine-category formats, ending as the third-best shot blocker in the NBA, averaging 2.5 per game.

Nets' Nic Claxton: Ejected after second tech
Claxton has been ejected from Thursday's Game 3 of the Eastern Conference Quarterfinals after being assessed his second technical foul, Meghan Triplett of GrindCityMedia.com reports.
Claxton stared down Joel Embiid after dunking on him early in the fourth quarter and received a technical foul, his second of the game, and will join James Harden as players ejected from the contest. Claxton played an integral role before his ejection for Brooklyn on Thursday, scoring 18 points (8-9 FG) to go with four rebounds while also limiting Embiid to just nine points. Day'Ron Sharpe and Royce O'Neale should handle center duties for the remainder of the contest.

Nets' Nic Claxton: Downgraded to out
Claxton (rest) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the 76ers, Brian Lewis of the New York Post reports.
With Brooklyn locked into the No. 6 seed, Claxton and a majority of the Nets' regulars will sit out the regular-season finale. There's been no indication the hip injury will impact Claxton's availability during postseason play, but it has been a lingering issue over the last two weeks.

Claxton finished with 19 points (8-9 FG, 3-3 FT), seven rebounds, three blocks, two assists and two steals across 36 minutes in Wednesday's 123-108 win over the Pistons.
Claxton steamrolled the Pistons' starting frontcourt tandem of Jalen Duren and James Wiseman, putting up his best scoring total since March 12 with even greater efficiency than he usually provides while also recording five defensive counters. The Nets have a 1.5-game cushion over the Heat for the sixth seed in the Eastern Conference, so if Miami can beat Philadelphia on Thursday, expect head coach Jacque Vaughn to hand Claxton and all the team's other starters their usual minutes in Brooklyn's next game Friday versus the Magic.
