  • 76ers' Dewayne Dedmon: Left off injury report

Dedmon (undisclosed) isn't listed on the 76ers' injury report for Game 1 of the Eastern Conference First Round against Brooklyn on Saturday. Dedmon missed Tuesday's practice due to an undisclosed reason, but it appears he's put the issue behind him and will be available for postseason play. However, with Philadelphia at full strength, the backup big man isn't guaranteed any playing time, especially if Joel Embiid can stay out of foul trouble.

  • 76ers' Dewayne Dedmon: Doesn't practice Tuesday

Head coach Doc Rivers said Dedmon (undisclosed) didn't practice Tuesday, Rich Hofmann of The Athletic reports. With the 76ers resting their starters, Dedmon posted 14 points and seven rebounds in 19 minutes during Sunday's regular-season finale, but it appears he suffered an injury during that contest and could be in danger of missing Game 1 of the opening-round playoff matchup against Brooklyn. However, his official injury designation for Saturday's game likely won't be known until Friday, and his availability shouldn't have a major impact on Philadelphia's rotation if everyone else is available.

  • 76ers' Dewayne Dedmon: Productive in season finale

Dedmon supplied 14 points (6-8 FG, 1-1 3Pt, 1-1 FT), seven rebounds, four assists and one steal over 19 minutes during Sunday's 134-105 victory over the Nets. Dedmon stepped into a larger role Sunday, turning back the clock with a vintage performance. Of course, this is nothing more than an outlier, given he was basically out of the rotation prior to this game. The 76ers will head into the playoffs full of confidence for their first-round matchup against the Nets.

  • 76ers' Dewayne Dedmon: Moves back to bench

Dedmon isn't in the starting five for Wednesday's game versus the Mavericks. Joel Embiid will replace Dedmon in the starting lineup Wednesday. Dedmon is averaging just 1.2 points, 2.4 rebounds and 1.0 blocks in 7.6 minutes across his last five games.

  • 76ers' Dewayne Dedmon: Starts Monday, for some reason

Dedmon registered zero points (0-2 FG), two rebounds, one assist and two blocks across 10 minutes during Monday's 116-111 loss to the Nuggets. Dedmon moved into the starting lineup Monday, replacing Joel Embiid who was ruled out due to a calf injury. Despite having played in only five total games since arriving in Philadelphia, head coach Doc Rivers opted to go with the veteran over Paul Reed. For anyone keeping score, Reed was far more productive in his 17 minutes, ending with 17 points on 7-of-7 shooting, adding nine rebounds, two steals, one assist and one block. If Embiid does happen to miss more time, do yourself a favor and don't add Dedmon.

  • 76ers' Dewayne Dedmon: Draws first start of season

Dedmon is starting Monday's game against the Nuggets. Dedmon enters the starting five in place of Joel Embiid, who was ruled out earlier Monday with a calf injury. This marks Dedmon's first start of the 2022-23 campaign after averaging only 6.6 minutes over his last five appearances.

  • 76ers' Dewayne Dedmon: Makes team debut

Dedmon played the final 4:48 of Sunday's 112-93 win over the Wizards and finished with four points (2-2 FG), one rebound and one assist. Dedmon had been available to make his Philadelphia debut for just over a week, but it took until garbage time of a blowout before head coach Doc Rivers was ready to get a look at the veteran center. With third-year player Paul Reed having seemingly entrenched himself as Joel Embiid's top backup, opportunities for Dedmon and Montrezl Harrell are likely to be few and far between unless Embiid misses time.

Dedmon (hip) is available for Saturday's game against the Bucks, Ky Carlin of USA Today reports. Dedmon has yet to appear in a game for the 76ers, but that could change Saturday. He'll be competing against Paul Reed and Montrezl Harrell for the backup center role.

  • 76ers' Dewayne Dedmon: Questionable for Saturday

Dedmon (hip) is questionable for Saturday's game against the Bucks. Dedmon has missed four consecutive contests due to left hip soreness and may be sidelined for a fifth straight. When he's cleared, he'll have a chance to compete for a backup spot behind Joel Embiid, but Dedmon has yet to appear for the 76ers, leaving his potential fit in the rotation unclear until he gets back to full strength.

  • 76ers' Dewayne Dedmon: Probably out 'a few more games'

Philadelphia head coach Doc Rivers said Saturday that Dedmon (hip) is expected to be out for "a few more games," Austin Krell of USA Today reports. Dedmon's hip soreness isn't believed to be severe, but the veteran needs some time off. In the meantime, Paul Reed and Montrezl Harrell will remain backup center options for the 76ers.

  • 76ers' Dewayne Dedmon: Questionable Thursday

Dedmon is questionable for Thursday's game versus the Grizzlies due to left hip tightness. Dedmon has yet to make his Philadelphia debut since signing a one-year deal. When available, he will likely compete for backup center minutes with Paul Reed and Montrezl Harrell. If Dedmon is ruled out Thursday, his next chance to suit up will be Saturday's matchup with Boston.

  • 76ers' Dewayne Dedmon: Set to debut Wednesday

Dedmon (recently signed) is available for Wednesday's game against Cleveland, Ky Carlin of USA Today reports. Dedmon signed a one-year deal with Philadelphia on Monday and will be able to suit up for his new team ahead of the All-Star break. • 76ers' Dewayne Dedmon: Catches on with Philly

Dedmon agreed to a one-year contract with the 76ers on Wednesday, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reports. In the aftermath of last Thursday's trade deadline, the 76ers had been scouring the buyout market for an additional veteran reserve option at center, and Philadelphia appears to have found its man in Dedmon, who has appeared in 507 career regular-season games. Before being traded to the Spurs earlier this month and then waived, Dedmon saw action in 30 games for the Heat, averaging 5.7 points, 3.6 rebounds and 0.5 blocks in 11.7 minutes per contest. With Philadelphia, Dedmon will most likely be part of a three-man committee with Paul Reed and Montrezl Harrell for the backup center spot behind All-Star Joel Embiid. Head coach Doc Rivers could take a matchup-based approach to using his three reserve centers; the 6-foot-10, 245-pound Dedmon offers the most size, Harrell is the best scoring option and Reed profiles as the best option to guard undersized or perimeter-oriented big men. Dedmon won't be available for Monday's game against the Rockets, but if he finalizes his contract and practices Tuesday, he could be ready to make his Philadelphia debut Wednesday versus the Cavaliers.

  • Dewayne Dedmon: Cut by San Antonio

The Spurs waived Dedmon on Thursday, Shams Charania of The Athletic reports. San Antonio acquired Dedmon from the Heat two days earlier, but the Spurs took on his contract in the deal for the purpose of getting back a 2028 second-round draft pick. Given that the Spurs are rebuilding, the organization will cut the 33-year-old loose and allow him to explore his options elsewhere. During his time with Miami this season, the veteran center appeared in 30 games and averaged 5.7 points and 3.6 rebounds in 11.7 minutes.

  • Spurs' Dewayne Dedmon: Won't play Friday

Dedmon is out for Friday's game versus Detroit as he is not with the team. Dedmon will have to wait at least until Saturday's matchup with Atlanta to make his San Antonio season debut. However, the veteran big man remains a candidate to have his contract bought out.

  • Spurs' Dewayne Dedmon: Listed as out Wednesday

Dedmon is listed as out Wednesday against the Raptors. Dedmon was just traded to the Spurs and has not joined the team yet. There could be some minutes available for Dedmon if Jakob Poeltl is traded at the deadline, but he's an odd fit for their rebuild.

  • Spurs' Dewayne Dedmon: Headed back to San Antonio

The Spurs acquired Dedmon and a 2028 second-round draft pick from the Heat on Tuesday in exchange for cash considerations, Anthony Chiang of the Miami Herald reports. San Antonio won't be sending any players back to Miami, as it already had a spot on the 15-man roster open for Dedmon after Gorgui Dieng's second 10-day contract recently expired. Dedmon will be in line for his second stint with San Antonio after previously spending the 2016-17 season with the club, but he may not stick around with the Spurs for long. The 33-year-old doesn't fit the Spurs' rebuilding timeline, and San Antonio already has four other centers on the roster (Jakob Poeltl, Zach Collins, Isaiah Roby and Charles Bassey), so Dedmon could be a candidate to get waived at some point before the season ends. Even if the Spurs elect to keep Dedmon, he likely won't be part of head coach Gregg Popovich's regular rotation, as San Antonio presumably made the deal to pick up the draft pick.

  • Heat's Dewayne Dedmon: Handed suspension

Dedmon will serve a one-game suspension Thursday against the Bucks after he received the ban for conduct detrimental to the team during Tuesday's 112-111 win over the Thunder, Ira Winderman of the South Florida Sun Sentinel reports. In Tuesday's game, Dedmon played five minutes and produced two points (2-2 FT) and three rebounds before getting ejected the contest for tossing a TheraGun massage device on the court. Prior to his ejection, Dedmon had been arguing with a Heat assistant coach, which may have more to do his suspension than the ejection. Dedmon's absence for Thursday's game should clear the way for Orlando Robinson to serve as the top backup to Bam Adebayo (wrist), who is expected to play against the Bucks after sitting out Tuesday.
