Atlanta outrighted Flaa to Triple-A Gwinnett on Tuesday. Flaa was optioned to Triple-A on May 31 and has since posted a 4.76 ERA and 18/9 K:BB in 11.1 innings with the minor-league club. It remains to be seen whether the righty, who's allowed four runs in 2.2 MLB innings this season, will get another big-league opportunity in 2021.... See More ... See Less

Braves' Jay Flaa: Optioned to Triple-A
Flaa was optioned to Triple-A Gwinnett on Monday. Flaa made just one relief appearance during his time with the major-league club and allowed four runs on three hits and a walk while striking out two in 1.1 innings. He'll head back to the minors as part of a shuffle to make room for outfielder Abraham Almonte on the active roster.... See More ... See Less -
Braves' Jay Flaa: Joins big-league club
Flaa was recalled from Triple-A Gwinnett by Atlanta on Sunday, David O'Brien of The Athletic reports. The 28-year-old was claimed off waivers from the Orioles earlier in May, and he'll now receive his first big-league chance with his new team. Flaa's lone appearance in Baltimore was his major-league debut, and he delivered 1.1 scoreless innings with two walks and one strikeout. He should fill a low-leverage role out of the bullpen for Atlanta.... See More ... See Less -

David O'Brien@DOBrienATL7H agoMichael Harris II on if he senses #Braves offense starting to come around, including 9 hits, 7 runs from first four today: “Yeah, we’re in a good spot. Like I’ve said, we’re gonna turn this around pretty soon and today was a good experiment, I guess, to show we’re coming back.”

David O'Brien@DOBrienATL7H ago#Braves' Chris Sale on his rough day: “Can’t really put your finger on it. Probably a little out of whack, something I’ll look into tomorrow. But just seemed like everything that I’ve done to be successful, just didn’t happen today. Put my team in a tough spot, and here we are.”

David O'Brien@DOBrienATL8H ago#Braves total 13 hits and nine runs ... and lose 11-9 to the A's. *Chris Sale gave up four times as many runs (8) in four innings today as he allowed in 32 innings of his five May starts. *First four in ATL order combined for 9 hits, 7 RBIs, including Ozuna's 2 H, HR & 4 RBIs.

David O'Brien@DOBrienATL9H agoPierce Johnson gave up a 2-run double off the wall that caromed off Duvall's foot in the sixth to give back the lead to the A's, 10-9. #Braves have 2 on in bottom of the sixth, which began with Kelenic's single off LH O'Loughlin. David O'Brien@DOBrienATL10H agoMarcell Ozuna leads the NL with 17 homers and 52 RBIs, and is on pace for 49 and 150. But there's not been much else to recommend of the #Braves' offense through just over one-third of the season. Not much at all.
