If you like numbers scouting in the Dominican Summer League, Eduardo Quintero is as good of a flyer as anyone. The athletic Venezuelan got almost $300K from the Dodgers last winter as a catcher but quickly converted to center field. He has been clocked as at least a plus runner and Quintero really shines in statistical models after slashing .359/.472/.618 with five home runs and 22 steals in 49 DSL games. Quintero benefited from a .418 BAIBP, but he walked (15.1 BB%) almost as much as he struck out (16.0 K%), so there aren't any obvious concerns. Sometimes these types of players come stateside and continue their ascent up lists, but perhaps more often, significant flaws with the hit tool emerge.
