Yankees' Jorbit Vivas: Sitting Monday
Vivas is not in the Yankees' starting lineup against the Mariners on Monday.
Vivas will begin Monday's game on the bench while Oswald Peraza starts at second base and bats ninth. Since being recalled from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre on May 2, Vivas has gone 3-for-19 with three runs scored, three RBI and a 30.4 percent strikeout rate. He'll likely see his playing time diminish once DJ LeMahieu (calf) -- who is with the Yankees in Seattle -- returns from the 10-day injured list.

Yankees' Jorbit Vivas: Collects first big-league hit
Vivas went 1-for-2 with two RBI in Sunday's 7-5 loss to the Rays.
Vivas didn't start the contest, but he entered as a pinch hitter in the seventh inning and grounded out in his first at-bat. The 24-year-old accomplished a personal milestone in his second trip to the plate, singling in a pair of runs for his first major-league hit. Vivas had gone 0-for-3 with two walks in his first two games after getting called up from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre on Friday. He could see frequent starts at second base while Jazz Chisholm (oblique) is on the shelf.

Yankees' Jorbit Vivas: Making MLB debut
Vivas is starting at second base and batting ninth Friday against the Rays, and he's expected to receive regular playing time after Jazz Chisholm (oblique) was placed on the 10-day injured list, Laura Albanese of Newsday reports.
Vivas was up with the Yankees last summer and earlier this season, but he didn't see the field during his brief stints with the big club. The 24-year-old is making his MLB debut Friday, and it appears he'll get a chance to showcase himself while Chisholm is sidelined for the next 4-to-6 weeks. Vivas has enjoyed a strong start to the campaign at Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre with two homers, six steals and a .319/.426/.436 slash line in 26 contests.
