The White Sox optioned Horn to Triple-A Charlotte on Tuesday. Horn opened spring camp with the Cubs, but he was traded to the White Sox on Feb. 27 and has surrendered one run in five innings since joining the South Siders. The 26-year-old southpaw logged a 4.58 ERA and 1.53 WHIP across 53 frames in Triple-A last season, but a strong start in Charlotte could earn Horn a promotion into what projects to be a relatively weak White Sox bullpen.... White Sox's Bailey Horn: Sent to South Siders
Horn was acquired by the White Sox from the Cubs on Tuesday in exchange for Matthew Thompson, Ken Rosenthal and Sahadev Sharma of The Athletic report. The trade clears up space on the Cubs' 40-man roster for the signing of Cody Bellinger, which will soon be made official. Horn made 39 relief appearances at Triple-A Iowa last season and had a 4.58 ERA, 1.53 WHIP and 59:29 K:BB across 53 innings.... See More ... See Less -
Cubs' Bailey Horn: Added to 40-man roster
The Cubs selected Horn to their 40-man roster Tuesday, Andy Martinez of Marquee Sports Network reports. Horn spent most of last season with Triple-A Iowa, posting a 4.58 ERA and 1.53 WHIP across 53 innings. The 25-yera-old southpaw is now protected from the Rule 5 Draft next month and could work his way into the major-league bullpen at some point next season.... See More ... See Less
