The Mariners optioned Snider to Triple-A Tacoma on Sunday, Shannon Drayer of Seattle Sports 710 AM reports. Snider has appeared in two games for the Mariners since being called up June 1, allowing no runs on one hit and one walk while striking out three over two frames. Matt Bowman was recalled from Tacoma in a corresponding move to take Snider's spot in the bullpen.... See More ... See Less

Mariners' Collin Snider: Called up Saturday
Snider was called up from Triple-A Tacoma on Saturday. Snider will return to the major-league bullpen for the first time since April 8, replacing Gabe Speier (shoulder) on the 26-man roster after Speier was placed on the 15-day injured list Saturday. Snider has appeared in three games with Seattle in 2024, surrendering two runs on three hits and a walk while striking out two over three innings.... See More ... See Less -
Mariners' Collin Snider: Activated and optioned
The Mariners activated Snider (knee) from the 15-day injured list Tuesday and optioned him to Triple-A Tacoma. Snider is over his left knee contusion but will remain with Tacoma, where he had been on a rehab assignment, rather than rejoining the big club. He should get another shot in the Mariners' bullpen down the line.... See More ... See Less -
Mariners' Collin Snider: Moving around well
Snider (knee) is "moving around a lot better" per Mariners general manager Justin Hollander, and the reliever could be ready to return from the injured list when first eligible April 23, SeattleSports.com reports. Snider went on the IL on Monday after taking a triple-digit comebacker off his left knee the day prior against the Brewers. However, it appears Snider is making a quick recovery, and Hollander noted Friday he expects the reliever will be able to complete a short rehab assignment within the next few days.... See More ... Mariners' Collin Snider: Nabbed off waivers by Seattle
The Mariners claimed Snider off waivers from the Diamondbacks on Tuesday, Daniel Kramer of MLB.com reports. Snider has made 62 appearances at the big-league level, posting an uninspiring 5.93 ERA and 33:28 K:BB over 54.2 frames. He does boasts a 51.9 percent groundball rate, which gives Seattle something to work with.... See More ... See Less -
Diamondbacks' Collin Snider: Removed from 40-man roster
Snider was designated for assignment by the Diamondbacks on Tuesday. Snider is the 40-man roster casualty as the Diamondbacks officially add Joc Pederson. The 28-year-old was a waiver claim of Arizona's last month and will go through that process again. He holds a career 5.93 ERA and 33:28 K:BB over 54.2 innings in the majors.... See More ... Diamondbacks' Collin Snider: Claimed by Arizona
Snider was claimed off waivers by the Diamondbacks on Monday. A 28-year-old righty reliever, Snider was designated for assignment by Kansas City last week, but Arizona liked him enough to add him to its 40-man roster. Snider averaged 96-mph with his fastball and logged a 4.87 ERA, 1.82 WHIP and 11 strikeouts in 20.1 MLB innings last season. He will likely spend a good chunk of the year at Triple-A, as he has one minor-league option year remaining.... See More ... See Less -
Royals' Collin Snider: Loses 40-man spot
Snider was designated for assignment by the Royals on Monday, Anne Rogers of MLB.com reports. The move was made in order to clear a spot on the 40-man roster for free-agent signee Will Smith. Snider, 28, holds a 5.93 ERA and ugly 33:28 K:BB over 54.2 innings for Kansas City across the last two seasons. He seems likely to clear waivers.... See More ... See Less -
Royals' Collin Snider: Notches first career save
Snider worked a perfect ninth inning Tuesday to record his first career save in a 7-6 win over the Guardians. The Royals continue to mix and match high-leverage relief options as they take a look at bullpen options for 2024. Taylor Clarke, who picked up two saves last weekend, combined with Carlos Hernandez to work the seventh inning, while James McArthur handled the eighth after getting the job done in a save situation Monday. Snider hasn't done much since being called back up in late August to suggest he's well-suited for the closer role, posting a 4:4 K:BB through 9.2 innings, but his 2.79 ERA and 1.24 WHIP over that stretch are at least solid.... Royals' Collin Snider: Set to open Friday's game
The Royals list Snider as their opening pitcher for Friday's game in Toronto. Friday's game coincides with Alec Marsh's turn in the rotation, so he'll presumably be called upon to work in bulk relief behind Snider, who isn't expected to work more than once through the order given that he hasn't covered more than two innings in any of his 49 appearances in the majors or at Triple-A Omaha this season. Snider has made 10 of those appearances for Kansas City, compiling a 4.22 ERA, 1.59 WHIP and 5:5 K:BB across 10.2 innings.... See More ... See Less -
Royals' Collin Snider: Back in minors
The Royals optioned Snider to Triple-A Omaha on Sunday. Snider was recalled from Omaha at the start of July and has since allowed four earned runs over 4.2 innings while walking four batters and striking out three. Max Castillo will come up from Omaha to take Snider's spot in the bullpen.... See More ... See Less -
Royals' Collin Snider: Solid in spring games
Snider has allowed a hit and struck out three over three innings through three Cactus League appearances. Snider is in contention for a low-leverage role in the the Royals' bullpen. The 27-year-old righty struggled in his first taste of major-league action a year ago, posting a 6.55 ERA, 1.60 WHIP and 22:15 K:BB over 34.1 innings, though he also added seven holds and a 4-2 record. It's still too early to tell if he'll make the roster, and given his career 5.92 ERA at the Triple-A level, he could regularly be moved between Kansas City and Omaha this season.... See More ... Royals' Collin Snider: Recalled Wednesday
Snider was recalled from Triple-A Omaha on Wednesday. Snider returned to the majors Saturday and tossed 1.1 perfect innings against the Rays that same day. He was sent down Tuesday but will rejoin the major-league bullpen in response to Josh Staumont's (biceps) placement on the 15-day injured list Wednesday.... See More ... See Less -
Royals' Collin Snider: Heads back to minors
The Royals optioned Snider to Triple-A Omaha on Tuesday. Snider's most recent stint in the big leagues lasted just three days, with the right-hander tossing 1.1 scoreless innings over his lone appearance out of the bullpen. Kansas City called up Tuesday's starting pitcher, Jonathan Heasley, from Omaha in a corresponding move.... See More ... See Less -
Royals' Collin Snider: Sent back to Triple-A
The Royals optioned Snider to Triple-A Omaha following Sunday's 4-2 loss to the Blue Jays. Snider is one of 10 players who will come off the 26-man active roster with Kansas City needing to clear room for the 10 players returning from the restricted list ahead of the team's next game Friday against the Rays. During his two-day stint with the big club, Snider didn't make any appearances out of the bullpen.... See More ... See Less -
Royals' Collin Snider: Called up Saturday
Snider was recalled from Triple-A Omaha on Saturday. Snider has been in the minors since June 10 but will provide bullpen depth for the shorthanded Royals during their road trip in Toronto. The right-hander has posted a 7.71 ERA and 1.76 WHIP in 21 innings over 27 relief appearances in the big leagues this year.... See More ... See Less -
Royals' Collin Snider: Collects fourth win
Snider (4-2) pitched a perfect inning to earn the win Saturday versus the Astros. Snider worked the sixth inning after five shutout frames from starter Kris Bubic. In the bottom of the sixth, Salvador Perez opened the scoring with a two-run home run, and the Royals' bullpen protected the lead from there to get Snider his fourth win of the year. The right-hander has been a little inconsistent with runs allowed in six of his last 12 appearances. He has a 6.05 ERA, 1.50 WHIP and 12:8 K:BB through 19.1 innings in 24 appearances overall. He's added six holds and a blown save.... See More ... See Less -
Royals' Collin Snider: Snatches win Wednesday
Snider (3-1) earned the win Wednesday, allowing a hit in one-third of an inning without giving up a run versus the White Sox. Zack Greinke wasn't able to complete the sixth inning, with Snider instead recording the last out. The Royals then pulled ahead for good in the bottom half of the frame. Snider leads the Royals with six holds, and he's posted a 4.70 ERA, 1.43 WHIP and 12:6 K:BB through 15.1 innings. He's given up runs in four of his eight appearances in May.... See More ... See Less -
Royals' Collin Snider: Allows run but earns hold
Snider allowed a run on three hits in one inning, earning a hold in a 2-1 win over the White Sox in the second game of Tuesday's doubleheader. Snider hasn't been efficient lately, allowing five runs over his last five innings, but he's managed to pick up three holds and only one blown save in that stretch. The right-hander has allowed just one home run in 15 innings this season while posting a 4.80 ERA, 1.40 WHIP, 12:6 K:BB, six holds and a 2-1 record through 17 appearances. He'll likely continue to see some high-leverage work, but Scott Barlow and Josh Staumont have shared the closing duties almost exclusively this year.... See More ... See Less -
Royals' Collin Snider: Earns third hold
Snider picked up a hold and tossed a scoreless two-thirds of an inning in a 7-1 win Tuesday over St. Louis. Snider entered the game with two runners on base and one out and induced a double-play ball on his second pitch to end the inning. The rookie has appeared in 12 of the Royals' first 22 games, tossing less than an inning in seven of those appearances. He's primarily pitched in the middle innings and has been effective with a 2.70 ERA and 1.10 WHIP in 10 innings, including three double-play balls.... See More ... See Less
