  • White Sox's Chris Muller: Links up with ChiSox

Muller signed a minor-league contract with the White Sox on Sunday and was assigned to Triple-A Charlotte. After being cut by the Rays on Thursday, Muller wasted little time finding a new organization. The 27-year-old received a call-up to the big leagues with Tampa Bay in May but never made his MLB debut before being removed from the 40-man roster. Prior to his release, the right-handed reliever had compiled a 4.95 ERA and 1.50 WHIP while striking out 22 over 20 innings with Triple-A Durham.

  • Rays' Chris Muller: Back with Rays on MiLB deal

Muller signed a minor-league contract with the Rays on Friday. The Rays designated Muller for assignment May 28 before releasing him the next day, but the 27-year-old righty is now back in the Rays' farm system. Muller holds a 4.95 ERA and 1.50 WHIP through 20 frames in Triple-A and would have to be added back to the 40-man roster before getting a shot to pitch in the majors.

  • Chris Muller: In search of new organization

The Rays released Muller on Monday. Even though he cleared waivers after being designated for assignment Sunday, Muller won't stick around in the Rays organization as pitching depth at Triple-A Durham. The 27-year-old right-hander turned in serviceable numbers (4.05 ERA, 1.30 WHIP, 22:7 K:BB) over his 20 innings out of the Durham bullpen this season, so he shouldn't have too much difficulty catching on with another organization on a minor-league deal or finding work overseas on a more lucrative contract.

  • Rays' Chris Muller: Cast off 40-man roster

Tampa Bay designated Muller for assignment Sunday. Muller will cede his spot on the 40-man roster to lefty Joe LaSorsa, whose contract was selected from Triple-A Durham prior to the Rays' game Sunday versus the Dodgers. Though he was up with the big club for a brief spell earlier in May, Muller never made his MLB debut before he was sent back to Durham just under two weeks ago. In 16 appearances out of the Durham bullpen this season, Muller has logged a 4.95 ERA and 1.50 WHIP across 20 innings.

  • Rays' Chris Muller: Sent back to Triple-A

The Rays optioned Muller to Triple-A Durham on Monday. Muller received his first MLB call-up Friday and spent the weekend with the big club, but he didn't get the chance to make his debut during the Rays' series with the Yankees. He'll now head back to Durham with the Rays needing to free up a roster spot for closer Pete Fairbanks (forearm), who was reinstated from the 15-day injured list Monday.
