Lutz (undisclosed) has appeared in five games since Double-A Biloxi reinstated him from its 7-day injured list Aug. 19, going 5-for-18 with two walks, a double and four RBI across those contests. Lutz was inactive for approximately six weeks with the unspecified injury. The 23-year-old outfielder has endured a disappointing 2021 campaign at Biloxi, slashing .215/.290/.393 while striking out in 31.8 percent of his plate appearances.... See More ... See Less

Brewers' Tristen Lutz: Placed on injured list
Lutz was placed on the 7-day minor-league injured list with an unspecified injury Friday. The Brewers didn't announce what injury Lutz is dealing with, and it's not yet clear whether he could spend more than the minimum of seven days on the shelf. The 22-year-old has appeared in 45 games for Double-A Biloxi to begin the year, and he's slashed .208/.284/.399 with seven home runs, 27 RBI, 22 runs and two stolen bases.... See More ... See Less -
Brewers' Tristen Lutz: Reporting to big-league spring camp
The Brewers announced Wednesday that Lutz will attend big-league spring training as a non-roster invitee, Will Sammon of The Athletic reports. The 22-year-old is among a handful of the Brewers' more advanced prospects who will get the opportunity to showcase his skills at big-league camp before likely being reassigned to the minors shortly before Opening Day. Before the 2020 minor-league season was cancelled, Lutz most recently saw action at High-A Carolina, submitting a .255/.335/.419 slash line over 477 plate appearances in 2019.... See More ... Brewers' Tristen Lutz: Added to summer camp pool
Lutz (groin) was added to Milwaukee's summer camp player pool Thursday, Will Sammon of The Athletic reports. While the Brewers have yet to provide an update on Lutz, who underwent sports hernia surgery over the offseason, he was expected to be back to full health by April. The 21-year-old doesn't figure to factor significantly into the big-league picture during the shortened 2020 season after spending the 2019 campaign with High-A Carolina, hitting .255/.335/.419 across 477 plate appearances.... Brewers' Tristen Lutz: On recovery path
Lutz underwent sports hernia surgery over the offseason but is expected to be ready for the start of the minor-league season, the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports. Lutz dealt with several injuries over the last six months, but he has been able to take batting practice this spring and should be back in playing shape when affiliates begin playing in early April.... Brewers' Tristen Lutz: Turns things around
Lutz has hit .295/.381/.554 with seven home runs, 13 doubles, 21 RBI and a 16:44 BB:K in 160 plate appearances over his last 36 games with High-A Carolina. Lutz is playing at the High-A level this season for the first time, and he owned a woeful .444 OPS after 19 games. The slow start was not all that surprising for someone 2.6 years younger on average than the rest of the players in the Carolina League, according to Baseball Reference, but he has turned things around in a big way since, putting up impressive numbers in each of the three slash categories. The 2017 competitive-balance round pick is one of the top prospects in the Brewers' organization.... See More ... See Less -
Brewers' Tristen Lutz: Slow start
Lutz is hitting only .182/.250/.299 in 84 plate appearances for High-A Carolina. He has 30 strikeouts, good for a 35.7 strikeout percentage. Lutz, a Competitive Balance Round A pick in 2017, struggled early last season at Low-A but was better over the second half. He turns 21 in August, so he's not especially old for the level, but he hasn't fared all that well in full season ball after dominating in Rookie-level ball after getting drafted.... See More ... Brewers' Tristen Lutz: Big month of July
Lutz hit .304/.398/.569 with five home runs and 19 RBI in 27 games in July. Lutz has come a long way since hitting just .181 in April, and his big month of July now has his OPS on the season up to .767. He will turn 20 years old this month, and has firmly established himself as one of the Brewers' top prospects.... See More ... See Less -
Brewers' Tristen Lutz: Big day for Low-A affiliate
Lutz went 2-for-3 with a home run, double, three walks and a stolen base for Low-A Wisconsin in its 19-5 win over Peoria on Monday. Lutz put the full scope of his skill set on display Monday, showcasing the plus power and solid speed and plate discipline that made him a Competitive Balance Round A pick in 2017. It's the 19-year-old's contributions as a slugger that drive most of his intrigue in dynasty settings, and he's beginning to rack up the extra base hits with more regularity after a slow start to Midwest League play. Lutz has tallied three home runs, 11 doubles and a triple in just 70 at-bats over his last 18 games.... See More ... See Less -
Brewers' Tristen Lutz: Getting on track
Lutz went 2-for-5 with a double and two runs in a game with Low-A Wisconsin on Thursday. Lutz owned a woeful .366 OPS after 14 games this season but he has started to heat up, going 8-for-27 (.296) with a home run, three doubles, and 4:7 BB:K -- good for a .925 OPS -- over his last seven contests. Lutz has not received much fanfare as a prospect just yet, but at 18 years old he posted a .957 OPS over 40 rookie-league games in 2017 and was a competitive balance round pick earlier last year, so he could make some noise this summer if his recent adjustments stick....
