Mozzicato was promoted from Single-A Columbia to High-A Quad Cities on Sunday. Despite missing a month on the injured list, Mozzicato showed growth in his second year at Single-A, posting a 3.04 ERA, 1.25 WHIP and 85:34 K:BB over 56.1 innings. The southpaw will now get a new challenge at High-A, likely for the remainder of the 2023 campaign. While he still has youth and a good prospect pedigree on his side, Mozzicato will need to work on trimming back his walk rate as he works up the Royals' system.... See More ... See Less

Royals' Frank Mozzicato: Activated at Single-A
Mozzicato (undisclosed) was activated from the 7-day injured list at Single-A Columbus on Thursday and gave up three earned runs on four hits and four walks while striking out three over 3.1 innings. He was originally expected to miss a month with the undisclosed injury, but his absence ended up lasting just two weeks. This was Mozzicato's worst outing of the season, but the young southpaw still boasts a 2.54 ERA, 1.15 WHIP and 77 strikeouts in 49.2 innings.... See More ... See Less -
Royals' Frank Mozzicato: Sidelined for one month
Mozzicato was placed on the 7-day injured list Saturday and is expected to miss a month with an undisclosed injury, Anne Rogers of MLB.com reports. Mozzicato suffered the injury after colliding with a teammate during practice. While the Royals haven't provided a timeline for his return, his exact injury remains unclear. The injury disrupts an excellent season for the 2021 seventh-= overall pick, as he owns a 40.0 percent strikeout rate and a 2.14 ERA in nine starts for Single-A Columbus.... See More ... See Less
