Orioles' Austin Hays: Returns to lineup Sunday
Hays (finger) will start in left field and bat fifth in Sunday's game at Atlanta. Hays didn't start any of the Orioles' past four games while battling a bruised middle finger, but his ability to appear as a pinch runner in Friday's 9-4 win was a firm indication that he wasn't expected to require a trip to the injured list. He'll now take back his usual spot in left field, resulting in Kyle Stowers shifting over to right field while Anthony Santander serves as Baltimore's designated hitter.... See More ... See Less -
Orioles' Austin Hays: Still sidelined

Orioles' Austin Hays: Sitting out with bruised finger
Hays is not in the Orioles' lineup again Thursday in Kansas City due to a bruised right middle finger, Jake Rill of MLB.com reports. The outfielder did say he would be available off the bench, so it sounds like he should be back in the lineup soon. Kyle Stowers is in left field again Thursday.... See More ... See Less -
Orioles' Austin Hays: On bench again
Hays is out of the Orioles' lineup for the second straight game Thursday in Kansas City, Jacob Calvin Meyer of The Baltimore Sun reports. Hays went 4-for-8 with two walks, a double and an RBI across both games of Saturday's doubleheader split with the Tigers. Hays is absent from the Orioles' starting nine for a second straight game Thursday after suffering a bruised right hand Tuesday when he got hit by a pitch. Orioles' Austin Hays: Out again Thursday
Hays (hand) remains out of the Orioles' lineup for Thursday's game in Detroit. It's the second straight game Hays will miss after he suffered a bruised right hand as a result of a hit-by-pitch Tuesday. Ryan McKenna is getting a start in left field in Hays' absence.... See More ... See Less -
Orioles' Austin Hays: Likely to miss multiple games
Manager Brandon Hyde said Wednesday that Hays' bruised right hand is "pretty sore" but better than it was Tuesday, and the Orioles are hopeful that he'll be out of the lineup for only a few days, Nathan Ruiz of The Baltimore Sun reports. Hays is taking a seat for Wednesday's series finale with the Red Sox after suffering the hand injury in Tuesday's 8-6 loss. X-rays conducted after the game returned negative, and Hyde is optimistic that Hays won't need a trip to the injured list.... See More ... See Less -
Orioles' Austin Hays: Unavailable Wednesday
Hays (hand) is not in the starting lineup Wednesday versus the Red Sox, Jake Rill of MLB.com reports. After suffering a right hand contusion in Tuesday's loss to the Red Sox, Hays is unavailable to start the series finale. Manager Brandon Hyde believes the outfielder is day-to-day. He went 0-for-1 before exiting. Hays was removed in favor of Terrin Vavra with the contusion on his right hand, and Hyde told reporters that the team is fortunate that it's not a significant injury.
