  • AJ Pollock: Cut loose by Giants

The Giants activated Pollock (oblique) from the 10-day injured list and released him Monday, Jon Morosi of MLB Network reports.

After being acquired from the Mariners on July 31, Pollock went 0-for-6 over two games with the Giants before landing on the IL with a left oblique strain. He was cleared to begin a rehab assignment at Triple-A Sacramento this weekend and seems to be back to full health, but the Giants didn't have room for him on the 28-man active roster and will now part ways with the veteran outfielder. Pollock has endured a rough 2023 campaign between his stops with Seattle and San Francisco, slashing .165/.215/.308 with five home runs, 15 RBI and 15 runs scored in 144 plate appearances.

  • Giants' AJ Pollock: Rehab assignment Friday

Pollock (oblique) will begin a rehab assignment with Triple-A Sacramento on Friday, Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.

Pollock has been out since Aug. 9 and was originally expected to miss three weeks. He'll be sidelined a bit beyond that timeline, though he should return at some point in early September assuming his rehab goes smoothly from this point.

  • Giants' AJ Pollock: Could soon begin rehab assignment

Pollock (oblique) could begin a rehab assignment soon, Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

Pollock has been cleared to take part in all baseball activities, and it may not be long before he's given the green light to resume playing in games. The Giants placed Pollock on the 10-day injured list Aug. 9 with a left oblique strain, an injury that had been expected to keep him out for about three weeks.

  • Giants' AJ Pollock: Out three weeks

Pollock is expected to be out for three weeks due to his left oblique strain, Maria I. Guardado of MLB.com reports.

Pollock is slashing .165/.215/.308 through 144 plate appearances on the season, so the Giants won't be losing much production at the plate, but their depth will take a hit through the end of August. Heliot Ramos was brought up from Triple-A to temporarily fill Pollock's spot on the roster but likely won't be used often off the bench.

  • Giants' AJ Pollock: Lands on IL with oblique strain

San Francisco placed Pollock on the 10-day injured list Wednesday with a left oblique strain, Maria I. Guardado of MLB.com reports.

Pollock made an early exit from Tuesday night's loss to the Angels after experiencing discomfort along his left side, and the issue has since been diagnosed as an oblique strain. He's gone hitless in five games (six plate appearances) since joining the Giants via trade in late July and will likely now be on the shelf for at least a couple of weeks. Heliot Ramos is getting the call in a corresponding roster move.
