  • Dodgers' Freddie Freeman: Playing with stiff neck

Freeman is hitting second and playing first base against the Yankees on Friday, but he is dealing with some neck stiffness, Matthew Moreno of DodgerBlue.com reports. Freeman was outstanding in May, posting a .400/.462/.722 slash line along with six homers over 132 plate appearances. The first baseman will play through the neck issue for now, but Freeman could get extra rest days if it continues to bother him.

He's hit safely in 19 straight contests, going 35-for-77 (.455) with 18 extra-base hits in that span. The first baseman is playing even better than his usual high standard, and his weeks-long hot stretch has him up to a .344/.416/.589 slash line with 10 homers, 35 RBI, 47 runs scored and six stolen bases through 56 games overall.

Freeman has added nine doubles, a triple, four homers and 15 runs during the red-hot stretch, and he currently leads the majors with 20 two-baggers on the campaign.

Freeman went 2-for-5 with a triple, a homer and four RBI in Thursday's 16-8 loss against the Cardinals. Freeman gave the Dodgers life with a sixth-inning grand slam to cut the deficit to two. The veteran first baseman also tripled in the fifth, but his teammates failed to bring him home. Freeman is producing another excellent season with a .918 OPS, eight home runs, 36 runs and 27 RBI. He even has six stolen bases and could surpass his career high of 13, which he set in 2022.

  • Dodgers' Freddie Freeman: Continues activity on basepaths

Freeman went 1-for-4 with a walk and a stolen base Sunday in a 6-3 win against St. Louis. Freeman came into the series versus the Cardinals with just one theft on the campaign, but he is now up to four after nabbing three steals over his past two contests. The sudden uptick of aggressive baserunning has put him on pace to collect double-digit steals for what would be just the third time in his lengthy career. Freeman has only nine RBI on the season, but he's doing almost everything else well, slashing .292/.377/.451 with six doubles and 21 runs scored.

  • Dodgers' Freddie Freeman: Tallies two thefts

Freeman went 0-for-3 with a walk and two stolen bases in Saturday's 1-0 win over St. Louis. Though he didn't pick up any hits in the contest, Freeman gave his fantasy managers a positive performance with a pair of steals. They were the second and third thefts of the season for the veteran first baseman, who tallied a career-high 13 stolen bases last year. Freeman is putting together another strong campaign at the plate, slashing .294/.376/.459 with four homers, nine RBI and 21 runs scored.

  • Dodgers' Freddie Freeman: Swats fourth homer

Freeman went 2-for-4 with a solo home run in Wednesday's 8-1 loss to the Pirates. The Dodgers only managed four hits in total off Roansy Contreras and the Pittsburgh bullpen, and Freeman's eighth-inning blast was all that stood between the Bucs and a shutout. It's the fourth homer of the year for the first baseman, and Freeman sports a .289/.375/.464 slash line with nine RBI and 20 runs through 25 games -- somewhat disappointing numbers by his own lofty standards.

  • Dodgers' Freddie Freeman: Nabs first theft

Freeman went 0-for-4 with a walk and a stolen base in Thursday's 6-2 win over the Cubs. Freeman extended his on-base streak to six games with a walk in the eighth inning, and he subsequently stole second. The theft was the first of the season for the veteran first baseman -- he was caught stealing in his only other attempt. Freeman tallied a career-high 13 steals last year, adding some extra juice to his reliable fantasy production in nearly every other offensive category.

  • Dodgers' Freddie Freeman: Goes deep twice in loss

Freeman went 3-for-4 with a pair of home runs and three RBI in an 8-6 loss to the Mets on Monday. Freeman powered Los Angeles' offense one day after striking out four times against the Cubs. The star first baseman came into the contest on an uncharacteristic cold streak, as he was batting just .143 (4-for-28) with no extra-base hits and nine strikeouts over his previous seven games. Freeman emerged in a big way with a solo home run off David Peterson in the first inning and a game-tying two-run shot off Peterson in the fifth. He's slashing .328/.416/.522 through 77 plate appearances on the campaign, though he's knocked in just six runs including Monday's outburst.

  • Dodgers' Freddie Freeman: Playing first base Sunday

Freeman is hitting second and playing first base Sunday in a Cactus League game against the Athletics. A day after returning to the lineup as the designated hitter following a bit of hamstring tightness, Freeman is back on the field for the Dodgers on Sunday. The former MVP appears to be a full-go for the regular season and should once again be a fantasy stalwart in 2023.

  • Dodgers' Freddie Freeman: Reaches three times in return

Freeman went 2-for-2 with a walk in Saturday's spring game against the White Sox. Freeman was removed after three plate appearances, but that was to be expected. It was the first game back for the first baseman after he left Tuesday's World Baseball Classic game for Team Canada with tightness in his hamstring. There's no reason to think that Freeman won't be ready for the regular season, and his next step should be playing in the field sometime soon.

  • Dodgers' Freddie Freeman: In Saturday's lineup

Freeman (hamstring) is starting at designated hitter and batting second Saturday against the White Sox, Juan Toribio of MLB.com reports. As expected, Freeman will make his return to the lineup after exiting Tuesday's World Baseball Classic game for Team Canada with hamstring tightness. It's good to see that this injury wasn't a strain. Freeman should be a full-go for the start of the regular season.

  • Dodgers' Freddie Freeman: Could return at DH on Saturday

Freeman (hamstring) is expected to serve as the designated hitter in a Cactus League game Saturday and then play first base Sunday, David Vassegh of AM 570 LA Sports reports. That's tremendous news after Freeman tweaked his right hamstring Tuesday while representing Canada in the World Baseball Classic. It looks like that will turn out to be a minor blip for the star first baseman. He can remain penciled in for the Dodgers' starting lineup for Opening Day, which is exactly two weeks away.
