Yuri Sucart, who was the longtime personal assistant for embattled Yankees DH Alex Rodriguez, was sentenced to seven months in prison Thursday after pleading guilty to federal drug charges stemming from the Biogenesis scandal, according to the Associated Press.
A Miami federal judge also sentenced the 53-year-old Sucart to serve six months of house arrest after his release from prison. He could later be deported to his native Dominican Republic.
Sucart is the last of eight people to plead guilty for their roles in providing steroids to Rodriguez and other athletes through the Biogenesis clinic, which was owned by Anthony Bosch.
MLB suspended 14 players in the wake of the Biogenesis investigation, including Rodriguez, who was suspended for the 2014 season. He has resumed his career in 2015, and the soon-to-be-40-year-old Rodriguez is batting .270 with 11 home runs and 27 RBI through 51 games.
