Jones (throat) was listed as a full practice participant on Wednesday's estimated injury report. Jones injured his throat in the fourth quarter of the Colts' Week 16 win over the Titans. While Indianapolis didn't practice Wednesday, his full practice listing suggests that the injury won't linger into Sunday's game against the Giants. Jones has registered 85 tackles (59 solo), 12 pass defenses (including two interceptions) and one forced fumble through 15 regular-season games.... See More ... See Less

Colts' Jaylon Jones: Won't return against Titans
Jones (throat) has been ruled out for the rest of Sunday's game against the Titans, George Bremer of The Anderson Herald Bulletin reports. Jones suffered a throat injury in the fourth quarter of Sunday's game. Given that the game has entered the final two minutes of the fourth quarter, he may have been held out for the rest of the contest out of precaution. His practice participation over the week will determine his availability for Week 17 against the Giants on Sunday, Dec. 29.... See More ... See Less -

Colts' Jaylon Jones: Exceeds expectations as rookie
Jones racked up 44 tackles (33 solo) and five passes defended across 17 regular-season appearances with Indianapolis in 2023. The 2023 seventh-round pick was thrust into a starting role early in his NFL career due to a season-ending injury to Dallis Flowers (Achilles), and by Week 8 he was handling more than 90 percent of defensive snaps. Jones played an impressive 763 defensive snaps as a rookie, and while he may not retain a full starting role for the 2024 campaign, he has certainly solidified himself as a key cog in the Colts' secondary.... Colts' Jaylon Jones: Could be set for significant role
Jones had one total tackle while playing six snaps on defense in Sunday's overtime loss to the Rams. He's a candidate to take over a starting cornerback role with Dallis Flowers' season-ending Achilles injury, the Indianapolis Star reports. Jones had played just one snap on defense in Week 1 before Sunday. The 2023 seventh-round draft pick will compete with Darrell Baker to fill the void caused by Flowers' absence. Baker was a healthy scratch the last two weeks after struggling in his first two games.... See More ... See Less

Stephen Holder@HolderStephen1D agoComplementary football is a boring cliche that we often roll our eyes at. But the Chiefs are masterful at playing in that manner and it’s the reason they’re where they are. The Colts could really learn a thing or two from them.
