  • Lions' Carlton Davis: Traded to Detroit

The Buccaneers are trading Davis to the Lions, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports. Detroit gets an experienced starter to address the obvious weak point of an otherwise stellar roster. The Bucs probably won't get much in return; for them, the appeal largely comes from avoiding more than $14 million in non-guaranteed payments scheduled for Davis in 2024 (after the recent re-signings of QB Baker Mayfield and WR Mike Evans). The 27-year-old Davis has played between 10 and 14 games each season since the Bucs took him in the second round of the 2018 NFL Draft, starting 75 of his 76 regular-season appearances while averaging 54 tackles, 12.2 pass defenses, 1.5 interceptions, 0.5 forced fumbles and 0.7 fumble recoveries per season.

  • Buccaneers' Carlton Davis: Questionable to play at Carolina

Davis (concussion) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game at Carolina. Davis was a full participant at practice Thursday and Friday, but it's possible there are still outstanding steps for him to clear league concussion protocol. If he can't suit up in Week 18, Christian Izien could see more snaps as a result.

  • Buccaneers' Carlton Davis: Practices in full

Davis (concussion) was a full participant in Thursday's practice. The 27-year-old cornerback missed the Buccaneers' Week 17 loss to the Saints with a concussion, and after an estimated limited practice session Wednesday, he upgraded to a full workload Thursday. Head coach Todd Bowles told reporters Thursday that Davis still hasn't fully cleared concussion protocol just yet, meaning the sixth-year pro could very well carry an injury designation into the weekend.

  • Buccaneers' Carlton Davis: Still working through protocol

Head coach Todd Bowles said Wednesday that Davis remains in the concussion protocol, Brianna Dix of the Buccaneers' official site reports. Davis suffered a concussion in the Buccaneers' Week 16 win over Jacksonville and was unable to practice during Week 17 prep before missing Sunday's loss to the Saints. Greg Auman of Fox Sports reported Monday that Davis was trending in the right direction to play Week 18 against the Panthers, and while the cornerback could practice in some capacity Wednesday, he'll still need to clear the five-step protocol by the weekend to guarantee his availability for the regular-season finale.

  • Buccaneers' Carlton Davis: Suiting up Week 12

Davis (hip) is active ahead of Sunday's game against the Colts, Scott Smith of the Buccaneers' official site reports. • Buccaneers' Carlton Davis: Could play Week 12

Davis (hip) is listed as questionable ahead of Sunday's game against the Colts. The sixth-year cornerback out of Auburn suffered a hip injury during the Buccaneers' Week 11 loss to the 49ers, but he was able to log a week of limited practice sessions, and he has a chance to play Sunday. If Davis were to miss Week 12, Zyon McCollum would likely get the start in Tampa Bay's secondary.

  • Buccaneers' Carlton Davis: Limited by hip injury

Davis (hip) was limited in Wednesday's practice. It sounds like Davis avoided a serious injury after he was forced to exit last week's loss to the 49ers. He underwent an MRI earlier in the week. With Jamel Dean (ankle) banged up and absent Wednesday, the Bucs really need Davis to play Sunday against the Colts.

  • Buccaneers' Carlton Davis: Out for remainder of game

Davis has been ruled out for the remainder of Sunday's game against the 49ers due to a hip injury, Scott Smith of the Buccaneers' official site reports. Davis recorded a solo tackle prior to his departure, but he'll be forced to miss most of the second half due to a hip issue. He missed last week's game due to a toe injury, and it's unclear whether his hip injury will impact his availability for next Sunday's game against Indianapolis.

  • Buccaneers' Carlton Davis: Will be game-day decision

Head coach Todd Bowles said Friday that Davis (toe) will be listed as questionable and considered a game-day decision for Sunday's matchup with the Titans, Scott Smith of the Buccaneers' official site reports. Davis appears to have recently aggravated the toe injury that forced him to miss two games earlier this season, putting him in jeopardy of sitting out Sunday's contest. His status may not be solidified until Tampa Bay releases its inactive list 90 minutes before the 1 p.m. ET kickoff.

  • Buccaneers' Carlton Davis: Sits out practice Wednesday

Davis missed Wednesday's practice due to a toe injury. Davis popped up on Tampa Bay's injury report Wednesday with a toe injury, the same injury that caused him to miss two games early in the season. If the 2018 second-round pick is unable to suit up against the Titans on Sunday, the Buccaneers could be in danger of being without both starting corners, as Jamel Dean is still in the concussion protocol.

  • Buccaneers' Carlton Davis: Four stops in return to action

Davis (toe) recorded four solo tackles and a defensed pass in the Buccaneers' 26-9 win over the Saints on Sunday. The veteran cornerback made his return from a two-game absence due to the toe injury to turn in a solid performance over 61 snaps. Davis has gotten his hands on a pass in each of the two contests he's played thus far, and he'll now have a Week 5 bye for additional recovery ahead of a Week 6 home battle versus the Lions on Oct. 15.

  • Buccaneers' Carlton Davis: Participates in full

Davis (toe) was a full participant at Thursday's practice. It seems as if Tampa Bay's top corner has moved past his toe issue after participating in a limited fashion during Wednesday's practice following a second consecutive absence in Monday night's Week 3 loss to the Eagles. Davis will help solidify a secondary that could be without cornerback Jamel Dean (neck) this coming Sunday against the Saints.

Davis (toe) is inactive for Monday's contest against the Eagles. Davis was able to get in limited sessions in all three practices last week but will now miss his second game in a row. • Buccaneers' Carlton Davis: Back at practice, but limited

  • Buccaneers' Carlton Davis: Doesn't practice Wednesday

Davis (toe) did not participate at practice Wednesday ahead of Sunday's game versus the Bears. It's unclear when he picked up the injury; Davis led Tampa Bay's corners in snaps in Week 1. The Buccaneers' Thursday and Friday injury reports should shed more light on whether he's in danger of missing any playing time.

  • Buccaneers' Carlton Davis: Good to go for playoffs

Davis (shoulder) was a full participant during the Buccaneers' practice Thursday, Brianna Dix of the team's official site reports. Davis was sidelined for the final two games of the regular season due to a shoulder injury that first was revealed following Week 16. However, this shouldn't bother him heading into the playoffs, as Tampa Bay coach Todd Bowles said the 26-year-old is "good to go" for Monday's wild-card matchup against Dallas, per Dix. Expect Davis to reprise his role as the Buccaneers' top cornerback against the Cowboys' prolific scoring offense.

  • Buccaneers' Carlton Davis: Ruled out for Week 18

Davis (shoulder) has been ruled out for Sunday's contest against the Falcons, Greg Auman of Fox Sports reports. Davis will miss a second consecutive game as he nurses a shoulder injury he sustained at some point after the Buccaneers' Week 16 loss to the Bengals. The cornerback will now look to be ready to go for the start of the postseason next weekend. In his absence Week 18, Sean Murphy-Bunting will likely start another game in Tampa Bay's secondary.

Davis (shoulder) is not practicing Thursday, Rick Stroud of the Tampa Bay Times reports. Davis also sat out Wednesday's practice due to his shoulder injury.
