Pache will start in left field and bat seventh in Wednesday's game against the Reds. Pache will make his sixth start of the season and his second in as many days while the lefty-hitting Brandon Marsh checks out of the lineup with southpaw Nick Lodolo on the bump for Cincinnati. The right-handed-hitting Pache is expected to fill the short side of a platoon in the outfield for as long as he remains on the 26-man active roster.... See More ... See Less

Phillies' Cristian Pache: Starting again versus lefty
Pache is starting in left field and batting eighth Monday in Game 2 of the NLDS versus Atlanta, Scott Lauber of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports. It was Brandon Marsh in left field for Game 1 against right-hander Spencer Strider. Southpaw Max Fried will toe the rubber for Game 2, so Pache gets the call in left. It's the third time in four games this postseason that the Phillies have faced a lefty and Pache has started in left field in all of them, reaching base twice and driving in one run in six plate appearances.... Phillies' Cristian Pache: Playing left field in Game 1
Pache is starting in left field and batting eighth Tuesday in Game 1 of the NL Wild Card Series versus the Marlins. Brandon Marsh will take a seat as the Phillies face left-hander Jesus Luzardo in Tuesday's opener at Citizens Bank Park. Pache is an excellent defender in the outfield and slashed .314/.375/.549 in 57 plate appearances versus southpaws during the regular season.... See More ... See Less -
Phillies' Cristian Pache: Activated from IL
Pache (elbow) was activated from the 10-day injured list Friday, Matt Gelb of The Athletic reports. Pache has been out since mid-July following surgery to remove a screw from his right elbow. Johan Rojas looks to have leap-frogged him on the Phillies' center field depth chart, but Pache could still see some starts against lefties.... See More ... See Less -
Phillies' Cristian Pache: Resumes rehab assignment
Pache (elbow/hip) is set to resume his rehab assignment Tuesday with Triple-A Lehigh Valley, Matt Gelb of The Athletic reports. Pache was held out of minor-league action for a little over a week because of hip tightness, but that issue is now in the rearview and he could return to the Phillies' active roster as early as Friday. The 24-year-old outfielder initially landed on the injured list in mid-July following a stabilization procedure on his right elbow.... See More ... See Less -
Phillies' Cristian Pache: Closing in on rehab assignment
Pache (elbow) is expected to begin a minor-league rehab assignment during the upcoming week, Matt Gelb of The Athletic reports. Pache has been taking part in baseball activities for nearly two weeks and looks like he'll soon be ready to test himself in a game setting after he was initially placed on the 10-day injured list July 14. When healthy this season, Pache has largely functioned as a depth outfielder for Philadelphia, but he could have an avenue to more regular playing time if he beats Brandon Marsh (knee) back from the IL. Marsh was deactivated Sunday and is expected to miss around 2-to-3 weeks.... See More ... See Less -
Phillies' Cristian Pache: Light throwing, hitting
Pache (elbow) did some light throwing and hit off a tee Tuesday, Alex Coffey of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports. Pache will soon head to the Phillies' spring training complex in Florida to ramp up the intensity of his workouts. He required a cleanup procedure on his right elbow earlier this month but looks to be tracking toward a return sometime in August.... See More ... See Less -
Phillies' Cristian Pache: Expected to return this season
Pache (elbow) will be sidelined for a few weeks but is expected to return this season, MLB.com reports. Pache had surgery on Monday to remove a screw from his right elbow which had been inserted during a previous operation. While there doesn't look to be a clear timetable for his return, it could be sometime in August.... See More ... See Less -
Phillies' Cristian Pache: Elbow injury related to old surgery
The right elbow irritation which landed Pache on the 10-day injured list is related to an old surgery during which he had a screw inserted into his arm, Todd Zolecki of MLB.com reports. The surgery actually happened back before Pache began his pro career back in 2016. It's currently viewed as a minor injury, although a timetable for his return won't be known until after he visits the doctor.... See More ... See Less -
Phillies' Cristian Pache: Lands on IL with elbow injury
Pache was placed on the 10-day injured list Friday with right elbow irritation. It had been reported that Pache was heading to the IL and now we know what injury he's dealing with. The issue is considered minor, so he should be ready to return around the time he's first eligible July 21. Johan Rojas will fill Pache's spot on the Phillies' roster and figures to take over the short-side platoon role in center field alongside Brandon Marsh.... See More ... See Less -
Phillies' Cristian Pache: Headed to injured list
Pache is expected to be placed on the 10-day injured list, Matt Gelb of The Athletic reports. It's unclear what injury Pache is dealing with, but it's apparently considered minor so the outfielder figures to be back in close to the minimum amount of time. Johan Rojas is coming up to take Pache's spot on the Phillies' roster.... See More ... See Less -
Phillies' Cristian Pache: Returns from meniscus tear
Philadelphia activated Pache (knee) from the 10-day injured list Friday. Recovered from a late-April meniscus tear in his right knee, Pache will return to the Phillies' outfield mix ahead of Friday night's series opener against the Athletics. He went 3-for-25 (.120) in seven minor-league rehab games and doesn't offer much fantasy appeal, but Philly can use his help defensively.... See More ... See Less -
Phillies' Cristian Pache: Back to baseball activity
Pache (knee) could begin a rehab assignment in the next couple weeks, Todd Zolecki of MLB.com reports. Pache has been sidelined since April 29 and had surgery to repair his right meniscus. He's since progressed in his recovery, as he's been hitting and also ramping up defensive drills. If all goes well, Pache seemingly could return in the middle of June.... See More ... See Less -
Phillies' Cristian Pache: Undergoes knee surgery
Pache had surgery to repair his right meniscus Monday, Corey Seidman of NBC Sports Philadelphia reports. Per Seidman, the team expects Pache to need 4-to-6 weeks to recover from the procedure. Jake Cave and Dalton Guthrie, who was recalled from Triple-A Lehigh Valley on Saturday, could see an uptick in opportunities while Pache returns to full strength.... See More ... See Less -
Phillies' Cristian Pache: Diagnosed with torn meniscus
Pache has been diagnosed with a torn meniscus in his right knee, Matt Gelb of The Athletic reports. Pache suffered the injury Friday night in Houston while taking a lead off second base in the top of the fifth inning. He's already been placed on the 10-day IL and figures to be sidelined for at least the next several weeks following surgery to repair the meniscus tear. Dalton Guthrie was recalled by the Phillies on Saturday as a roster replacement and could be in for a decent helping of playing time in the outfield. Or perhaps Brandon Marsh will be used more against lefties moving forward.... See More ... See Less -
Phillies' Cristian Pache: Placed on injured list
Pache was placed on the 10-day injured list Saturday with a right knee injury, Matt Gelb of The Athletic reports. There's no exact diagnosis yet, but Pache needs some time off after tweaking his right knee while running the bases Friday night against the Astros. Dalton Guthrie has been recalled from Triple-A Lehigh Valley in a corresponding move.... See More ... See Less -
Phillies' Cristian Pache: Leaves with apparent injury
Pache left Friday's game against the Astros in the fifth inning with an apparent injury, Alex Coffey of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports Pache appeared to slip while taking a lead off second base, and the outfielder was unable to continue. Brandon Marsh has replaced Pache as a pinch runner.... See More ... See Less -
Athletics' Cristian Pache: Homers in Sunday's win
Pache went 1-for-3 with a two-run home run and a walk in Sunday's 10-3 win over the Mariners. Pache extended the Athletics' lead to 3-0 with his fourth-inning blast. He's seen inconsistent playing time since returning to the big leagues Aug. 28, going 6-for-33 with two extra-base hits, five RBI and three runs scored across 20 contests in that span. He now has a .162/.216/.239 slash line with three homers, 18 RBI, 18 runs scored and a stolen base in 252 plate appearances in the majors this year.... See More ... See Less -
Athletics' Cristian Pache: Laces three-bagger in loss
Pache entered Thursday's extra-inning loss to the Nationals as a pinch hitter in the seventh inning and remained in the game in center field, lacing an RBI triple, drawing two walks and scoring one run in his three plate appearances. The 23-year-old was making his third appearance overall since being recalled from Triple-A Las Vegas on Sunday, and his first hit since his return was his second major-league three-bagger. Pache's busy night offensively was certainly encouraging considering his past struggles against big-league pitching, and he should get a solid opportunity to continue honing his craft over the final month of the season.... See More ... See Less -
Athletics' Cristian Pache: Sent down Thursday
Pache was optioned to Triple-A Las Vegas on Thursday. Pache's playing time declined over the last several weeks, and he went just 2-for-18 with a double, a run, an RBI and six strikeouts over his last seven games. Skye Bolt (hamstring) was reinstated from the 60-day injured list and is starting in center field Thursday against the Mariners.... See More ... See Less
