Get ready for a Mountain West battle as the Utah State Aggies and the San Jose State Spartans will face off at 9:45 p.m. ET on Saturday at Merlin Olsen Field at Maverik Stadium. The matchup is expected to be a close one, with Utah State going off at just a 1-point favorite.

The Aggies were able to grind out a solid win over the Hawaii Rainbow Warriors last week, winning 41-34. RB Calvin Tyler Jr. was the offensive standout of the contest for Utah State, rushing for one TD and 113 yards on 25 carries in addition to snatching one receiving TD.

Utah State's defense was a presence as well, as it collected three interceptions and one fumble. S Ike Larsen picked up that interception and then proceeded to rub salt in the wound by taking it back the other way for a touchdown.

Meanwhile, SJSU received a tough blow last week as they fell 43-27 to the San Diego State Aztecs. The losing side was boosted by QB Chevan Cordeiro, who passed for three TDs and 195 yards on 33 attempts in addition to punching in one rushing touchdown.

Utah State is now 5-5 while the Spartans sit at 6-3. Two stats to keep in the back of your head while watching: The Aggies enter the game having picked the ball off 11 times, good for 22nd in the nation. But SJSU enters the game with only three thrown interceptions, good for fourth best in the nation. These opposing strengths should make for an exciting matchup.
