Georgia Southern took a little while to warm up, but they followed up a slow three-point first quarter with 14 points in the second. Texas State matched them to leave it all tied up at 17-17. The offense for Georgia Southern put that tie to bed by coming up with 21 points in the second half to win the game.
RB Jalen White hadn't helped Georgia Southern's cause all that much against the Coastal Carolina Chanticleers last week, but the same can't be said for this game. Georgia Southern also got help from WR Derwin Burgess Jr., who showed off his sure hands for 134 receiving yards in the victory.
No one had a standout game offensively for Texas State, but they got scores from RB Jahmyl Jeter and RB Calvin Hill.
