After a rough September that produced a 3-2 start, Tennessee is reportedly making a significant change on the offensive side of the ball.
GoVols247 reports that redshirt freshman Jarrett Guarantano will start at quarterback for Tennessee for Saturday's game against South Carolina. Guarantano will be replacing Week 1 starter Quinten Dormady.
VolsQuest interestingly notes that Dormady "is contemplating his football future at Tennessee" and that "all eyes will be on Tuesday afternoon's practice as to whether Dormady is present."
Tennessee has not officially announced any quarterback change.
Guarantano has appeared in three games for Tennessee this year, mostly in relief for Dormady during offensive struggles. He's completed 50 percent of his passes, but at a paltry 2.3 yards per attempt for 54 yards.
However, Dormady has had five chances to spark the offense and it simply hasn't worked. Tennessee ranks near the bottom of the FBS in many major offensive categories including scoring offense (98th), passing offense (91st) and yards per play (99th).
