Live scores, highlights and updates from the Louisiana vs. Georgia State football game
Game Recap
On Thursday, the Georgia State Panthers were out to avenge their 34-31 loss to the Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns from their previous meeting last September, but they had no such luck. The Panthers didn't finish too far behind, but the team still lost 21-17 to Louisiana.
The Ragin' Cajuns can attribute much of their success to RB Montrell Johnson, who punched in two rushing touchdowns. Johnson hadn't helped his team much against the Texas State Bobcats last week, so this was a nice turnaround for him. WR Peter LeBlanc also helped out with an impressive 118 receiving yards in the win.
Despite the defeat, Georgia State got a solid performance out of RB Tucker Gregg, who punched in one rushing touchdown.
Georgia State's overall record fell to 4-5. Louisiana's victory brought them up to 8-1.
Georgia State will square off against the Coastal Carolina Chanticleers at 2 p.m. ET next week at Brooks Stadium. As for the Ragin' Cajuns, they will face off against the Troy Trojans at 3:30 p.m. ET next week at Larry Blakeney Field at Veterans Memorial Stadium.
