As Week 12 of the 2023 college football season comes to a close, the top four teams in the College Football Playoff Rankings all still remain unscathed after No. 1 Georgia, No. 2 Ohio State, No. 3 Michigan and No. 4 Florida State prevailed in their respective matchups. While chaos has yet to strike among that group, the penultimate Saturday of the regular season -- even amid all the "cupcake" games for some contenders -- wasn't dry on storylines.
The ACC Championship Game matchup is set after No. 10 Louisville held off Miami to clinch its spot against Florida State. Speaking of the Seminoles, they are now suddenly dealing with quarterback questions after star signal caller Jordan Travis suffered a serious lower-body injury against North Alabama. Elsewhere, No. 5 Washington clinched its spot in the Pac-12 Championship Game after outlasting No. 11 Oregon State, keeping the Huskies undefeated and right in the thick of the CFP discussion. No. 21 Kansas State's dreams of a repeat Big 12 title aren't dead either after the Wildcats rallied to beat No. 25 Kansas, although they will still need some help.
