ARMY vs. MIZZ updates: Live NCAAF game scores, results for Wednesday

Through 3 Quarters

We've got a close game on our hands with the Missouri Tigers' lead being cut down to two this past quarter. It's anybody's game after three quarters, but Mizzou is ahead of the Army West Point Black Knights 16-14.

QB Brady Cook has led the way so far for the Tigers, as he has accumulated 132 passing yards in addition to rushing for one TD and 61 yards. K Harrison Mevis has contributed nine points on three field goals with a long of 39 yards.

Army has been relying on QB Christian Anderson, who has accumulated 60 passing yards in addition to rushing for one TD and 33 yards, and RB Jakobi Buchanan, who has punched in one rushing touchdown.

Army hasn't lost 100% of the games in which they were down heading into the final period this year, so a victory here would be refreshing.

What to Know

The Army West Point Black Knights and the Missouri Tigers will compete for holiday cheer in the Armed Forces Bowl on Wednesday at Amon G. Carter Stadium at 8 p.m. ET. Given that both teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.

Army suffered a bitter loss two weeks ago, failing to capitalize on an early lead against the Navy Midshipmen. The Black Knights didn't finish too far behind, but the squad still lost 17-13 to Navy. QB Christian Anderson put forth a good effort for the losing side as he accumulated 108 passing yards in addition to rushing for one TD and 67 yards. That touchdown -- a 56-yard rush in the first quarter -- was one of the highlights of the contest.

Meanwhile, the Tigers ended up a good deal behind the Arkansas Razorbacks when they played four weeks ago, losing 34-17. QB Connor Bazelak had a memorable game, but not in the way you want to be remembered: besides failing to produce a single touchdown, he threw one interception with a passing completion percentage of only 38.46%.

Most of the squad's points came courtesy of special teams, which contributed nine. K Harrison Mevis delivered a perfect 3-for-3 game.

Army is the favorite in this one, with an expected 7-point margin of victory. Those burned by picking them against the spread two weeks ago might want to keep in mind that the team has not yet dropped back-to-back games against the spread this season.

A couple defensive numbers to keep in mind before kickoff: Army is stumbling into the matchup with the 183rd most rushing touchdowns allowed in the nation, having given up 18 on the season. Mizzou has experienced some rushing struggles of their own as they are 236th worst in the nation in rushing touchdowns allowed, with 30 on the season. It's possible one of these Achilles' heels will wind up tripping the losing team up.
