ACC teams began releasing their depth charts on Monday.

  • At NC State , Tony Creecy won the starting RB job, although coach Tom O’Brien said he planned to use all three RBs. Not on the chart at all are WR Bryan Underwood and CB CJ Wilson. Underwood “has not been cleared to practice yet”, O’Brien said, but he still might be cleared later in the week.  “CJ Wilson has an eligibility issue that we’re waiting for the NCAA to clear up,” O’Brien said.
  • Two true freshmen are on the North Carolina depth chart. WR Quinshad Davis impressed coaches by being mentally prepared to play once he was medically cleared to practice. He’ll back up Erik Highsmith. DE Jesse Rogers won a chance to play with his football savvy. Coach Larry Fedora said he also planned to play true freshmen Bandit Shakeel Rashad, WR Kendrick Singleton, CBs TJ Jiles and Malik Simmons, and OL Caleb Peterson. Starting RB Giovanni Bernard is listed as the co-starter at punt returner. “If we played today, he’d be back there,” Fedora said.
  • Freshman WR Stefon Diggs did not win a starting job at Maryland. He’s listed as backup to senior Kerry Boykins. He did win the kick and punt return jobs, however. Maryland’s depth problems are evident—14 true freshmen are listed on the two-deep, and 23 of the 29 positions have a true or redshirt freshman listed.
