Kopitar picked up three assists Thursday in a 4-0 win over Montreal. Kopitar is on a three-game, five-assist streak, and he has 24 points, including 10 goals, in 23 games this season. He and teammate Trevor Moore, who scored a goal Thursday, became the second pair of teammates in NHL history to each have an 11-game road point streak to start a season. Who did they join? None other than Edmonton's Wayne Gretzky and Jarri Kurri (12 games; 1984-85). Kopitar is a huge reason that the Kings are among the NHL's most impressive teams this season. Kings' Anze Kopitar: Franchise's all-time assist leader
Kopitar notched an assist, two shots on goal and a plus-2 rating in Sunday's 4-1 win over the Avalanche. Kopitar earned his 10th assist of the season on Quinton Byfield's game-winning goal in the third period. The helper was Kopitar's 758th career assist, the most in Kings franchise history. The center racked up 10 points over 11 outings in November and has 20 points, 45 shots on net, 17 blocked shots and a plus-13 rating through 21 contests overall. Kings' Anze Kopitar: Ties team record while duck hunting
Kopitar had a goal and an assist in a 5-2 win over the Ducks on Friday. It was a primary assist and his 757th in the NHL, which tied Marcel Dionne for the most in Kings history. Kopitar's goal was a one-timer from the bottom of the right circle to push the score to 5-1 early in the third frame. Kings' Anze Kopitar: Locked up through 2025-26
Kopitar inked a two-year, $14 million contract extension with LA on Thursday. Kopitar has one season left on his eight-year, $80 million contract, so he's now locked up through 2025-26. He had 28 goals and 74 points in 82 contests last season, making it the 14th time in his 17-campaign career in which he's finished with at least 60 points. Kopitar will turn 36 years old in August, so the Kings are taking a bit of a risk by committing to him at a high cap hit for the next three seasons, but the signing will also provide LA with continuity since Kopitar has spent his entire NHL career with the Kings and is now likely to retire wearing the team's jersey.... It really showed from the second period on. A brief sign of life in the 3rd when Danault scored, but quickly lost it again.
