Halliday was brought up Monday but is back with Belleville in short order. The 2022 fourth-round pick has been productive in the minors with 15 goals and 28 helpers across 59 outings in 2024-25. The 22-year-old has yet to make his NHL debut.

Halliday had a pair of assists in his lone preseason game. The 22-year-old had 10 goals and 26 assists in 38 NCAA games with Ohio State before inking an entry-level contract with the Senators in March. He is likely to spend the season in the minors with Belleville.

Halliday and six other players were called up from the minors Thursday, likely as a way to fill out the roster ahead of preseason clashes with Detroit and Montreal on Friday and Saturday, respectively. For his part, the 22-year-old Halliday has yet to make his NHL debut and will almost certainly be shipped back to AHL Belleville ahead of Opening Night against the Panthers on Oct. 10.
