  • Flyers' Felix Sandstrom: Reassigned to AHL

Sandstrom was sent to AHL Lehigh Valley on Friday, Jordan Hall of NBC Sports Philadelphia reports. Russian netminder Ivan Fedotov joined the Flyers from the KHL on Friday, so the team sent Sandstrom to the minors in a corresponding move. • Flyers' Felix Sandstrom: Falls to Panthers

Sandstrom allowed three goals on 14 shots in Sunday's 4-1 loss to Florida. It was a tough outing for Sandstrom despite facing only 15 shots, as he allowed a goal in each period en route to the loss. The 27-year-old Sandstrom has struggled since he was recalled in early March to back up Samuel Ersson -- he falls to 1-2-0 with an ugly .823 save percentage and 3.87 GAA. The Flyers will look to bounce back Tuesday in a road matchup with the Rangers.

  • Flyers' Felix Sandstrom: Queasy third period leads to loss

Sandstrom made 24 saves in a 6-5 loss to Boston on Saturday. The game was tied 2-2 going into the third period, but the floodgates opened for both teams in the final frame. Sandstrom surrendered three even-strength goals in the span of just under three minutes early in the third, and Boston never trailed from that point forward. He has allowed 14 goals in four appearances (two starts). Sandstrom can't be trusted in your net at this point.

Sandstrom allowed three goals on 11 shots in "relief" as part of Saturday's 7-0 loss to the Lightning. Sandstrom replaced Samuel Ersson after the latter was blitzed with 15 shots and four goals against in the first period. This was only the second top-level performance of the season for Sandstrom, who earned another look after a win over Ottawa on March 2. Sandstrom wasn't able to stop the bleeding versus the Bolts, but he likely gets a free pass given that it was a total team meltdown and the final goal took place with the Flyers shorthanded.

  • Flyers' Felix Sandstrom: Wins season debut

Sandstrom made 24 saves in a 4-2 win over the Senators on Saturday. It was Sandstrom's NHL season debut. Vladimir Tarasenko beat him on a backhand from the right circle on a 2-on-1 rush early in the second, and Thomas Chabot scored on a one-timer from the bottom of the right circle at 18:02 of the third with his team's net empty. Sandstrom hasn't had a great year in the AHL, but he was sharp when he needed to be Saturday. He struggled in the backup role with the Flyers in 2022-23, going 3-12-3 in 18 starts (20 appearances) and delivering a 3.72 GAA and an .880 save percentage. Leave Sandstrom on the wire until he proves this year is different.
