Senators' Artem Zub: Pots game-winner in road win
Zub scored a goal on his only shot in Sunday's 2-1 win over New Jersey.
Zub scored the game-winning goal Sunday, beating Jacob Markstrom with a wrist shot from the point on the blocker side early in the third period. Zub added one hit, five blocked shots and a plus-1 rating in 21:48 of ice time. The right-shot blueliner has netted two goals over his last four outings, but he hasn't registered a helper since Nov. 12. Zub has contributed two goals and four points through 21 appearances this campaign, which was interrupted by a fractured foot that sidelined him for 16 games from Nov. 25 to Dec. 29.

Senators' Artem Zub: Pots empty-netter Tuesday
Zub scored an empty-net goal in Tuesday's 2-0 win over the Islanders.
It was the 29-year-old blueliner's first goal of the season, and his first point in seven games since returning from a broken foot he suffered in late November. Zub won't provide much offense, but he can be an asset in fantasy formats that value other categories, producing 18 blocked shots, nine hits and a plus-3 rating in those seven contests.

Senators' Artem Zub: Returns to action
Zub (foot) returned to action Thursday in a 4-2 loss to Dallas. He played 13:30 with one blocked shot and one shot on goal.
Zub hadn't played since Nov. 23. He had his best season in 2023-24 with 25 points (five goals), but he has just two assists in 12 games so far this year. Zub shouldn't be a priority waiver-wire target at this point, but fantasy managers who need some hits and blocks should keep his name in mind for their last roster spot as the season progresses.

Senators' Artem Zub: Activated from long-term IR
Zub (foot) was activated from long-term injured reserve on Thursday, TSN 1200 Ottawa reports.
Zub will return to the lineup for the first time since Nov. 23, a span of 16 games. The blueliner had two assists, 16 hits and 19 blocked shots in 11 games before his injury. Look for Zub to line up on the third pairing, alongside Tyler Kleven.

Senators' Artem Zub: Moves to LTIR
Zub (foot) was placed on long-term injured reserve Tuesday.
Ottawa recalled Donovan Sebrango from AHL Belleville in a corresponding move. Zub sustained a fractured foot following a blocked shot in Saturday's 4-3 loss to Vancouver. He won't be available to play until at least Dec. 19 against Calgary, but he could be out longer. Zub has compiled two assists, 13 shots on goal, 19 blocked shots and 16 hits through 11 appearances this season.

Senators' Artem Zub: Suffers fractured foot
Zub won't play Monday against Calgary and is out indefinitely due to a fractured foot, Bruce Garrioch of Postmedia reports.
Zub didn't practice Sunday after blocking a shot in Saturday's 4-3 loss to Vancouver. A timeline for his return is unclear, but he will be out for a while. Travis Hamonic will move up to the top pairing alongside Jake Sanderson, while Jacob Bernard-Docker will return to the lineup. Zub has accounted for two assists, 13 shots on goal, 19 blocked shots and 16 hits through 11 appearances this season.

Senators' Artem Zub: Two apples in win
Zub put up two assists in a 3-0 win over Toronto on Tuesday.
They were his first points of the year. Zub also threw two hits and fired two shots. He missed nine games due to a concussion, so expect him to take some time to get back to peak form. Zub's career mark of 25 points was set last season in Ottawa (five goals, 20 assists in 69 games). Interesting fantasy trivia -- Zub has played 256 games in the NHL without registering a power-play point.

Senators' Artem Zub: Playing versus Isles
Zub (concussion) will be in the lineup to face the Islanders on Thursday, TSN 1200 Ottawa reports.
Zub is set to return to the top pairing alongside Jake Sanderson after having missed the last nine games due to his concussion. Prior to getting hurt, the 29-year-old blueliner had yet to get his name on the scoresheet through three appearances while chipping in just three hits, four shots and one block. At this point, Zub may face an uphill battle to get over the 20-point threshold again this year.

Senators' Artem Zub: Might play Thursday
Zub (concussion) might be available Thursday versus the Islanders, per Bruce Garrioch of Postmedia on Wednesday.
Zub hasn't been in the lineup since Oct. 14. He has no points, three hits and a block in three appearances in 2024-25. If Zub draws back into the lineup Thursday, then Jacob Bernard-Docker might serve as a healthy scratch.

Senators' Artem Zub: Won't play Tuesday
Zub (concussion) won't be available for Tuesday's road game against the Senators, Claire Hanna of TSN reports.
Zub will miss his ninth consecutive game due to the injury, but he appears to be nearing a return after practicing with the team Monday. The right-shot blueliner will likely replace Jacob Bernard-Docker in the lineup once given the all-clear.

Senators' Artem Zub: Practices Monday
Zub (concussion) practiced Monday and could return to the lineup sooner rather than later, per Bruce Garrioch of Postmedia.
Zub has missed the last eight games and might be ready to play as early as Tuesday versus Buffalo, according to Garrioch. The 29-year-old defender hasn't earned a point in three appearances this season, but he has provided four shots on goal, one blocked shot and three hits. Once he's healthy, Zub will probably replace Jacob Bernard-Docker in the lineup.

Senators' Artem Zub: Skating solo
Zub (concussion) began skating Thursday but has yet to rejoin his teammates at practice, Bruce Garrioch of Postmedia reports.
At this point, Zub is unlikely to be in the lineup against the Rangers or Kraken on Friday or Saturday, respectively, considering the team is unlikely to hold a practice between the back-to-back. Still, it's a step in the right direction for the 29-year-old blueliner, who has already missed six games due to his concussion. Jacob Bernard-Docker, who has played in all six games without Zub, should continue to see minutes for the time being.

Senators' Artem Zub: Suffers concussion
Zub will miss at least a week after being diagnosed with a concussion, TSN 1200 Ottawa reports Wednesday.
Based on Zub's timeline, the blueliner can be expected to be out of action for at least Ottawa's next three contests. As such, fantasy players shouldn't be surprised to see him land on injured reserve in the coming days. The 29-year-old Russian is pointless through three games this year while contributing just three hits and one block. Jacob Bernard-Docker should slot into the third pairing with Zub on the shelf.

Senators' Artem Zub: Injured against Kings
Zub suffered an upper-body injury and won't return to Monday's matchup with Los Angeles.
Zub played just four shifts (2:38 of ice time) in Monday's game before being forced to leave the game due to his upper-body issue. If the blueliner missed any additional action, it could mean a significant uptick in minutes for Nick Jensen while Jacob Bernard-Docker would likely make his 2024-25 season debut.

Senators' Artem Zub: Good to go
Zub (lower body) will be in the lineup for Tuesday's exhibition matchup versus Montreal, per Bruce Garrioch of Postmedia.
Zub accounted for five goals, 25 points, 85 shots on net, 122 blocked shots and 139 hits across 69 regular-season outings in 2023-24. If he stays healthy in 2024-25, the 28-year-old blueliner could be among Ottawa's ice-time leaders, though he will mostly see action in defensive situations.

Senators' Artem Zub: Not expected to play Thursday
There's been no update on Zub's (lower body) status, per Bruce Garrioch of Postmedia, and he consequently isn't expected to play in Thursday's preseason game against Buffalo.
Zub's next chance to play would be Sunday against Pittsburgh. He recorded five goals, 25 points, 32 PIM, 139 hits and 122 blocks in 69 contests with Ottawa in 2023-24.

Senators' Artem Zub: Has lower-body injury
Zub is being evaluated after sustaining a lower-body injury, Bruce Garrioch of Postmedia reports Wednesday.
Zub had five goals, 25 points, 139 hits and 122 blocks in 69 games with Ottawa in 2023-24. Travis Hamonic isn't a certainty to serve on the Senators' top six when their campaign starts Oct. 10 versus Florida, but if Zub ends up missing that contest, then Hamonic will likely dress.

Senators' Artem Zub: Helpers in consecutive games
Zub notched an assist, three shots on goal and two blocked shots in Thursday's 4-3 overtime loss to the Kings.
Zub has helpers in back-to-back games for the first time since Dec. 19-21, though he has three multi-assist efforts in that span. The 28-year-old defenseman is up to 22 points in 48 contests, matching his career high from 81 outings in 2021-22. He's added 60 shots on net, 98 hits, 85 blocked shots and a plus-11 rating as a reliable top-four blueliner this season.

Senators' Artem Zub: Notches assist in loss
Zub posted an assist, three shots on goal and three blocked shots in Wednesday's 2-1 loss to the Ducks.
Zub picked up his first point in five games with the primary assist on Mark Kastelic's first-period tally. The 28-year-old Zub isn't very consistent on offense, but his defensive play keeps him in a top-four role. For the season, the defenseman has 21 points, one shy of his career high, with 57 shots on net, 98 hits, 83 blocked shots and a plus-10 rating over 47 appearances.
