Froden was placed on waivers Tuesday, per CapFriendly. Froden picked up four assists and 11 hits in 14 games with Seattle during the regular season in 2022-23. He also played in one playoff contest for the Kraken. The 28-year-old forward racked up 25 goals and 47 points in 44 AHL appearances with Coachella Valley this campaign. If Froden goes unclaimed, he is expected to join the Firebirds for the Calder Cup Playoffs.... See More ... See Less

Kraken's Jesper Froden: Slings helper
Froden notched an assist in Saturday's 7-3 win over the Blackhawks. Froden has an assist in each of his last two games. He's been a healthy scratch when the Kraken are fully healthy, but he got into the lineup Saturday with Jaden Schwartz getting rest before the playoffs. Froden has four helpers, nine shots on net, eight hits and a plus-4 rating through 12 appearances this season.... See More ... See Less -
Kraken's Jesper Froden: Draws in, picks up assist
Froden logged an assist and two shots on goal in Tuesday's 5-2 win over the Canucks. Froden slotted into Oliver Bjorkstrand's (personal) usual third-line spot with the latter staying home in Seattle awaiting the birth of his child. This was Froden's first game since March 23, though he has managed two assists in his last four outings. The 28-year-old winger has three helpers, eight shots on net, eight hits, five blocked shots and a plus-3 rating through 11 NHL contests in 2022-23. Froden mainly plays a defensive, bottom-six role, so he shouldn't be counted on for offense when in the lineup.... See More ... See Less -
Kraken's Jesper Froden: Garners helper in loss
Froden notched an assist and went plus-2 in Monday's 5-2 loss to the Stars. This was Froden's second helper of the season, his first coming in his first game of the campaign Feb. 23 versus the Bruins. The 28-year-old has been a fixture on the third line for much of March, mostly for his smart play in his own zone. He has 47 points in 44 contests with AHL Coachella Valley this season, so there's still some offense to tap into, but likely not enough to interest fantasy managers.... See More ... See Less -
Kraken's Jesper Froden: Involved in paper move
Froden was sent to AHL Coachella Valley and then recalled Friday, per CapFriendly. Froden was shuffled around in a paper move to make him eligible for the AHL playoffs. The 28-year-old logged 6:26 of ice time in Friday's game against Columbus.... See More ... See Less -
Kraken's Jesper Froden: Gets assist against old team
Froden notched an assist and went plus-2 in Thursday's 6-5 loss to the Bruins. Froden helped out on a Jamie Oleksiak tally in the second period. The 28-year-old Froden signed his first NHL deal with the Bruins in 2021, and he had one goal in seven games with them in the 2021-22 campaign. He's been productive with AHL Coachella Valley this season, logging 25 goals and 22 helpers in 44 contests, though it's unclear how long he'll stick in the big club's lineup.... See More ... Kraken's Jesper Froden: Waived by Seattle
Froden was placed on waivers Sunday, CapFriendly reports. Froden came over from Sweden last year and scored 34 points in 48 games with AHL Providence. He also notched one goal in seven NHL appearances. The 28-year-old forward should fill a similar role in Seattle's organization this season.... See More ... See Less -
Kraken's Jesper Froden: Participates in training camp
Froden (lower body) is listed on the training camp roster for the Kraken, Kate Shefte of The Seattle Times reports. Froden dealt with an injury at the end of last season while with the Bruins. The 28-year-old inked a two-way contract this year, though it's likely he faces an uphill battle to make the Kraken's roster out of training camp. He played his first seven NHL games in 2021-22, scoring one goal on 10 shots and adding eight hits.... See More ... See Less -
Kraken's Jesper Froden: Moving to Seattle
Froden (lower body) signed a one-year, two-way contract with the Kraken on Wednesday. Froden had one goal in seven games with the Bruins and another 34 points in 49 contests with AHL Providence. The winger's two-way deal indicates he may start with AHL Coachella Valley this year, though he'll likely have a chance to make the Kraken's Opening Night roster in training camp.... See More ... Bruins' Jesper Froden: Staying home due to injury
Froden is dealing with a lower-body injury and it was announced Monday that he won't travel with the Bruins for their upcoming two-game road trip, Fluto Shinzawa of The Athletic reports. Froden was slotting into a top-six role for Boston due to the absence of David Pastrnak (undisclosed) but will now be on the sidelines himself for at least two games. In his stead, Curtis Lazar is poised to take on a second-line role versus the Blues on Tuesday.... See More ... See Less -
Bruins' Jesper Froden: Dropped to minors
Froden was demoted to AHL Providence on Friday, per CBS Sports. Froden has a plus-2 rating through five career NHL games but is still looking for his first point. Expect the 27-year-old to see more time at the AHL level down the stretch.... See More ... See Less -
Bruins' Jesper Froden: Returns to AHL affiliate
Froden was reassigned to AHL Providence on Tuesday, per CapFriendly. Froden went plus-2 with four shots on net, three hits, four blocked shots and two PIM in his four appearances during the Bruins' recent road trip. The 27-year-old could be an option in the bottom six if the Bruins need a forward again in the future.... See More ... See Less -
Bruins' Jesper Froden: Called up from AHL Providence
Froden was promoted from the minors Tuesday, Mark Divver of the New England Hockey Journal reports. Froden will switch places with Jack Studnicka, who was sent down in a corresponding move. With Brad Marchand back from suspension, it's unlikely the 27-year-old Froden will actually suit up versus the Kraken on Thursday and instead figures to serve as a healthy scratch.... See More ... Bruins' Jesper Froden: Sent to AHL
Froden was assigned to AHL Providence on Wednesday, per CapFriendly. With the taxi squads deactivated at the start of the All-Star break, Froden will likely spend most of the rest of the season with Providence.... See More ... See Less -
