He is riding his second-longest streak of the campaign and his best stretch of play since November. • Predators' Roman Josi: Pockets assist Tuesday

Josi notched an assist, three blocked shots and a plus-4 rating in Tuesday's 5-3 win over the Golden Knights. Josi set up a Justin Barron tally in the second period. Through five outings in January, Josi has a goal and four assists, which already makes this month more productive than December when he was limited to two assists over nine contests. The Swiss blueliner has struggled overall compared to recent seasons but still has 29 points, 113 shots on net, 71 blocked shots, 35 hits and a minus-19 rating through 39 appearances in 2024-25.

  • Predators' Roman Josi: Collects helper in loss

Josi produced a power-play assist in a team-high 26:35 of ice time in Saturday's 4-1 loss to the Capitals. Josi has already doubled his production from December with a goal and three helpers through four games in January. The star blueliner isn't scoring at a point-per-game pace like he did last season, but his start to January could be the beginning of a productive second half in 2024-25. Josi is spearheading Nashville's back end in scoring with eight goals and 28 points through 38 appearances.

  • Predators' Roman Josi: One of each in loss

Josi scored a goal on five shots and added a power-play assist in Tuesday's 5-2 loss to the Jets. Josi earned his first multi-point effort since Nov. 30. Over the 11 games in between, he was limited to three assists and a minus-8 rating while missing four contests due to a lower-body injury. The defenseman is up to eight tallies, 27 points (11 on the power play), 112 shots on net, 65 blocked shots, 35 hits and a minus-22 rating over 37 appearances in his usual top-pairing role.

  • Predators' Roman Josi: Hands out helper in win

Josi notched an assist, two shots on goal, three blocked shots and a plus-2 rating in Friday's 3-0 win over the Canucks. Josi has just two assists over six contests since he returned from missing four games due to a lower-body injury. His ice time has been substantial in that span, but the Predators' continued struggles on offense have still impacted his production. Overall, the 34-year-old blueliner has 25 points, 105 shots on net, 62 blocked shots, 34 hits and a minus-22 rating through 35 appearances this season.

  • Predators' Roman Josi: Assist in return from injury

Josi had one assist and two shots on goal in 26:25 of ice time in Saturday's 3-2 overtime victory over Los Angeles. Josi deked around Kings defender Kyle Burroughs in the left circle and took a step before dishing to Jonathan Marchessault for a tap-in goal at the top of the crease. Josi is an elite fantasy defender, but his minus-21 is a weight that's tough to carry in formats that count that stat. Nashville has struggled to prevent and score goals this season, and that didn't change during Josi's four-game absence due to a lower-body injury. Nashville has the fewest wins (10) in the NHL, and the team's minus-26 goal differential is second worst in the league.

  • Predators' Roman Josi: On injured reserve

Josi was put on injured reserve Thursday, per the NHL media site. Josi hasn't played since Dec. 10 and was already ruled out for Thursday's game against Pittsburgh, so this move doesn't necessarily impact his timetable. Instead, it frees up a roster spot for Jeremy Lauzon, who was activated off injured reserve in a corresponding move. Josi has seven goals and 23 points in 29 appearances in 2024-25.

  • Predators' Roman Josi: Ruled out for Thursday's game

Josi (lower body) has been ruled out for Thursday's game against the Penguins, Brooks Bratten of the Predators' official site reports. Josi continues to deal with a lower-body injury and will be unavailable for a fourth consecutive game. However, he participated in the Predators' game-day skate ahead of Tuesday's matchup against the Rangers, so he appears to be making some progress in his recovery. Head coach Andrew Burnette said before Thursday's game that there are "a lot of balls in the air" regarding the defensive pairings against Pittsburgh, so it's not yet clear whether Jeremy Lauzon (lower body) will be able to return from injured reserve.

Josi (lower body) will not be in action against the Rangers on Tuesday, Robby Stanley of NHL.com reports. Josi will miss his third straight game due to his lower-body injury but appears to be trending in the right direction after participating in the game-day skate Tuesday. He has seven goals, 23 points, 86 shots on net, 52 blocked shots and 32 hits in 29 appearances this season. With Josi, Jeremy Lauzon (lower body) and Alexandre Carrier (upper body) unavailable, Marc Del Gaizo, Adam Wilsby and Kevin Gravel have been playing for the Predators.

Josi (lower body) won't play Thursday against Dallas and is considered day-to-day. • Predators' Roman Josi: Exits with lower-body injury

Josi (lower body) won't return to Tuesday's game versus the Flames. Josi didn't play in the second period and was ruled out during the second intermission.
