  • Falcons' Calais Campbell: Forces safety in loss

Campbell recorded four solo tackles, including a sack, during Sunday's 31-28 loss to the Vikings.

Campbell took down Joshua Dobbs in the end zone for a safety in the second quarter, marking his third sack over his last four games. After a slow start to the campaign, the veteran has picked up steam and is certainly improving a pass rush that struggled to get after the quarterback in recent years.

  • Falcons' Calais Campbell: Gets another sack Sunday

Campbell recorded four tackles (one solo) including a sack and a forced fumble in Sunday's 16-13 win at Tampa Bay.

Campbell got himself into the sack column for the second straight game in Week 7 after being blanked in that department during the first five games of the season. He did it against a decent Buccaneers offensive line too -- he'll draw one of the worst offensive lines in the league in Week 8 at Tennessee.

  • Falcons' Calais Campbell: Records sack in loss

Campbell notched four tackles (three solo) and one sack during Sunday's 24-16 loss to the Commanders.

The sack was the 100th of his career, making one of just five active NFL players to hit that special mark. Campbell signed with the Falcons this offseason and was expected to revitalize one of the worst pass-rushing groups in the NFL. He's been a solid presence for Atlanta thus far, but it took until Week 6 to record his first sack. Campbell hasn't recorded a double-digit sack season since 2018, and it doesn't look like that'll change this year.

  • Falcons' Calais Campbell: No longer hindered by neck

Campbell's absence from practice Wednesday was not injury related, D. Orlando Ledbetter of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.

Campbell was dinged up during Sunday's 21-19 win versus Houston, but it doesn't appear like it will jeopardize his availability for Week 6. He should resume a starting role Sunday versus Washington.

  • Falcons' Calais Campbell: Injured Sunday

Campbell (neck) is dealing with "bumps and bruises" after Sunday's 21-19 win over the Texans on Sunday according to head coach Arthur Smith, D. Orlando Ledbetter of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.

Campbell was evaluated for a head injury during the game, but he was ultimately cleared and able to return. The veteran lineman told Michael Rothstein of ESPN.com that he suffered a stinger in his trapezius, and it was "probably the worst one I had in my career." More clarity on Campbell's status should be available when the team releases its first injury report for Week 6 against the Commanders.

  • Falcons' Calais Campbell: Passes physical

Campbell (undisclosed) has passed his physical and been removed from the Falcons' active/non-football injury list, Field Yates of ESPN reports.

It remains unclear what injury Campbell was dealing with, but it was never considered a long-term issue. He signed a one-year, $7 million contract with the Falcons in March after a three-year stint with the Ravens. The soon-to-be 16-year veteran is expected to start at defensive end assuming he avoids any setbacks.
