Commanders' Brandon Coleman: In concussion protocol
Head coach Dan Quinn told reporters Monday that Coleman is in concussion protocol following Sunday's 40-7 win over the Panthers, Ben Standig of The Athletic reports.
The 2024 third-round pick out of TCU played just 15 offensive snaps before exiting Washington's blowout win due to a concussion. Coleman's participation in practice throughout the week will provide the best indication of whether he can return for the Commanders' Week 8 matchup against the Bears. However, Coleman must clear the NFL's five-step concussion protocol in order to suit up Sunday, regardless of his practice participation.

Commanders' Brandon Coleman: Won't return vs. Carolina
Coleman (concussion) has been ruled out for the rest of Sunday's game against the Panthers.
Coleman went to the locker room in the first half to be evaluated for a concussion. He was unable to clear the league's five-step protocols, and he will not return to Sunday's game as a result. Coleman's status for Week 8 against the Bears will depend on how he progresses through those protocols over the coming week. Cornelius Lucas will remain at left tackle for the rest of Sunday's contest.

Coleman is being evaluated for a concussion and is listed as questionable to return to Sunday's game against the Panthers, Ben Standig of The Athletic reports.
Coleman was checked out in the blue medical tent following his head injury, but he has gone back to the locker room for further evaluation. He will need to pass the league's five-step concussion protocols in order to return to Sunday's game. Cornelius Lucas is the next man up at left tackle while Coleman is sidelined.

Commanders' Brandon Coleman: Practices in full
Coleman (pectoral) was a full participant in Wednesday's practice.
Coleman missed the majority of August due to a strained pectoral, but it now appears he's moved past the issue. The 2024 third-round pick is expected to have the opportunity to start at left tackle for a Commanders offensive line that allowed the second-most sacks in the NFL in 2023.

Commanders' Brandon Coleman: Showing improvement
Coleman (pectoral) logged individual reps at practice Monday and will take part in team drills later this week, Zach Selby of the Commanders' official site reports.
Coleman has yet to play in a preseason contest due to a strained pectoral. He may not suit up for Sunday's exhibition finale versus New England either, but the rookie could still be ready to start at left tackle in Week 1 if he continues to progress.

Coleman did not play in Saturday's 20-17 preseason loss to the Jets due to a strained pectoral, Nicki Jhabvala of The Washington Post reports.
Head coach Dan Quinn told reporters Friday that Coleman is "day-to-day or week-to-week" due to the injury. The rookie third-round pick out of TCU is pencilled in as the starting left tackle for the Commanders. In Coleman's absence Friday, Trent Scott got the start at left tackle.
