Commanders' Percy Butler: Practices fully Thursday
Butler (quad) practiced in full Thursday.
Butler suffered a quad injury Week 4 against the Cowboys, and he's missed each of the team's last two contests as a result. However, the rookie defensive back was able to log a full session Thursday, implying he'll be available for Sunday's matchup versus the Packers. Through four games played in 2022, Butler logged a total of 16 defensive snaps compared to 66 special-teams snaps, and he'll likely have a similar role in Week 7.

Commanders' Percy Butler: Out again Week 6
Butler (quadriceps) was ruled out for Thursday's game against the Bears, Zach Selby of the Commanders' official site reports.
Percy suffered a quad injury during Washington's Week 4 loss to the Cowboys, and he was sidelined during Sunday's loss to the Titans as well. The fourth-round rookie served a significant special-teams role over the first three weeks of the season, though he played just 16 defensive snaps over this span. Percy will now look to return during the Commanders' next game against Green Bay on Sunday, Oct. 23.

Commanders' Percy Butler: Not expected to play Sunday
Butler (quadriceps) isn't in line to play Sunday against the Titans, Nicki Jhabvala of The Washington Post reports.
Butler came away from Sunday's 25-10 loss to the Cowboys with an apparent quadriceps injury, and he's failed to practice since. The rookie safety has played mostly special-teams snaps through the team's first four contests, and he'll now target a return for next Thursday night's game in Chicago.

Commanders' Percy Butler: Finds home in D.C.
The Commanders selected Butler in the fourth round of the 2022 NFL Draft, 113th overall.
Butler brings significant speed to the Commanders' secondary, as he ran a 4.36 40-yard dash at 6-foot, 194 pounds. Over his final two seasons at Louisiana, Butler posted 105 tackles, 13 pass breakups, three interceptions and a sack. He'll still need to fine-tune his ball skills and perhaps bulk up before he can take on a significant workload on an NFL defense. Still, his speed should make him effective on special teams in the meantime.
