Johnson (foot) was activated from the reserve/COVID-19 list and shifted back to injured reserve Wednesday, Aaron Wilson of Sportstalk 790 Houston reports.
The rookie was placed on the COVID-19 list Thursday and remained away from the team during their wild-card loss to the Chiefs. Johnson now will continue to rehab his foot injury at the Steelers' team facilities.

Johnson was already on IR with a foot injury when he was shifted to the COVID list Thursday. The linebacker will now be away from the team while going through league protocols.

Johnson didn't pop up on the injury report until Friday. The rookie has appeared in four games -- including the last two -- for the Steelers this season, but he plays mostly on special teams. He'll try to return in Week 16 against the Chiefs.
