Armah was signed to the Commanders' practice squad Wednesday, Nicki Jhabvala of The Washington Post reports.
After being released by the team while dealing with an undisclosed injury to open the season, Armah will return to Washington's practice unit Wednesday. The fullback played in 11 games last season with New Orleans and Washington, turning five carries into 21 yards while reeling in a one-yard touchdown catch over 70 offensive snaps. Armah will provide additional backfield depth behind the likes of Brian Robinson and Antonio Gibson.

Armah (undisclosed) was released from Washington's injured reserve with an injury settlement Monday, Ben Standig of The Athletic reports.
Armah was set to miss the entirety of the 2022 campaign after he landed on the Commanders' injured reserve with an unknown injury last Tuesday. Now, the fullback will be free to join a new squad once he presumably gets healthy heading into the regular season.

Though he's a fullback by trade, Armah took some reps at tight end in practice this week and could serve as the lone depth option at the position Tuesday behind John Bates in the event Ricky Seals-Jones (illness) -- who is listed as questionable -- isn't cleared to play. In nine appearances with the Saints earlier this season, Armah was deployed mostly as a blocker. Armah has longstanding connections with coach Ron Rivera, who was coaching the Panthers when they drafted the fullback in 2017. Armah finished the 2020 season with six rushes for nine yards and five receptions on nine targets for 18 yards in 16 games.
Armah once again served as Carolina's fullback, playing all 16 games for a third straight season. Unlike the prior two campaigns, though, Armah wasn't able to find the end zone at all, and he was featured on less than 15 percent of the Panthers' total offensive snaps. As one of the few true fullbacks in the league with experience filling an occasional offensive role, the veteran should garner interest as a free agent this offseason.
