McCloud (illness) has been ruled active for Sunday's game against the Commanders. McCloud was in and out of practice Week 15 while dealing with an illness. Nevertheless, he'll still suit up for this important divisional matchup against Washington. With Adoree' Jackson (knee) and Rodarius Williams (coach's decision) both inactive, expect McCloud to continue playing an every-down role as one of four available cornerbacks for the Giants.... Giants' Nick McCloud: Tallies eight tackles Week 13McCloud finished with eight tackles (six solo) and two defended passes Sunday in a 20-20 tie versus Washington. McCloud got his second straight start in the absence of Adoree' Jackson (hand), and he again played on 100 percent of New York's defensive snaps. He made the most of the opportunity by tying a career high with eight tackles -- a mark he had established against Dallas one week earlier. Jackson will miss at least one more game (and quite possibly more), so McCloud's time as a starter hasn't yet come to an end.... See More ... See Less
Giants' Nick McCloud: No injury designation for Week 5McCloud doesn't have an injury designation for Sunday's matchup against the Packers in London. McCloud missed three straight games after suffering a hamstring injury during the season opener, but he's in line to return in Week 5 after logging a full practice Friday. The second-year cornerback played exclusively on special teams during Week 1 before suffering the injury, so he'll likely garner a similar role against Green Bay.... See More ... See Less
Giants' Nick McCloud: Ruled out for Week 2McCloud (hamstring) has been ruled out for Sunday's contest against the Panthers. McCloud suffered a hamstring injury during the team's Week 1 win over the Titans and will be sidelined for at least one additional week. Aaron Robinson (appendix) has also been ruled out, so Darnay Holmes, Justin Layne and Cor'Dale Flott are all candidates for increased roles Sunday.... See More ... See Less
Giants' Nick McCloud: Exits with hamstring injuryMcCloud sustained a hamstring injury during Sunday's win over the Titans, Dan Salomone of the Giants' official site reports. McCloud racked up two tackles on special teams against Tennessee but was unable to return to the game after suffering his hamstring injury during the second half. His status for next Sunday's game against Carolina remains to be seen.... See More ... See Less

Art Stapleton@art_stapleton7H agoIf the Giants could find a returner who can dodge and juke the way Thomas McGaughey did questions about the new kickoff rule this morning, they'll be in business. Well played by McGaughey, but it's clear it's not in favor of it - at all.

Art Stapleton@art_stapleton7H agoI do think part of the Giants' decision to cancel OTA practices today and tomorrow also has to do with this: these are voluntary workouts in June. There's no reason to push something today or tomorrow with health questions + uncertainty. You also reinforce players' trust.

Art Stapleton@art_stapleton8H agoWink Martindale was very complimentary of rookie CB Deonte Banks this morning. Also, I have not seen the stats, but Wink quoted PFF in saying that #NYGiants defense faced max protection more than any other in NFL last season.
