  • Cowboys' Bradlee Anae: Activated off COVID-19 list

Anae (illness) was activated off the Cowboys' reserve/COVID-19 list Wednesday. After missing the Cowboys' previous two games while on the team's COVID-19 list, it seems that Anae is slated to make his return to the field Sunday against the Giants. The young defensive end has seen a minimal role so far this season especially since Chauncey Golston returned to take over the starting position in Week 3.

  • Cowboys' Bradlee Anae: Will miss second straight game

Anae (undisclosed) remains in COVID-19 protocols and will miss Sunday's contest against the Panthers, Michael Gehlken of The Dallas Morning News reports. Anae will miss his second straight contest after being placed in COVID-19 protocols on Sept. 24. The 22-year-old defensive end was playing a rotational role during the first two weeks of the season, but Chauncey Golston returned in Week 3 and accrued most of those snaps. Anae's next chance to suit up will be Oct. 10, when the Cowboys take on the Giants.

  • Cowboys' Bradlee Anae: Lands on COVID-19 list

Anae was placed on the reserve/COVID-19 list Friday, Rob Phillips of the Cowboys' official site reports. Anae was on the field for 31 defensive snaps in Sunday's Week 2 win over the Chargers, and he recorded a solo tackle. It's not yet clear whether the 2020 fifth-rounder has tested positive for the virus or if he's considered a close contact, but Azur Kamara will likely see a slight uptick in playing time if Anae is unavailable for Monday night's game against Philadelphia.

  • Cowboys' Bradlee Anae: Going to Dallas

The Cowboys selected Anae in the fifth round of the 2020 NFL Draft, 179th overall. Anae is a classic case of past production versus projectable tools for the next level. At 6-foot-3 and 257 pounds with shaky athleticism, Anae will have to win with skill and a sound pass-rush plan in the NFL. However, that lack of tools didn't stop him from piling up three seasons of at least 10 tackles for loss at Utah. Anae also piled up 13.0 sacks as a senior, helping him earn Consensus All-American honors. He profiles as a depth option at defensive end as he begins his NFL career.
