  • Dolphins' Myles Gaskin: Back in Miami

Gaskin agreed Wednesday with the Dolphins on a one-year deal, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports. Gaskin, who finished the 2022 campaign on injured reserve while he was recovering from an illness, is now presumably healthy and in line to reprise his depth role in a Miami backfield that also includes holdovers Raheem Mostert, Jeff Wilson and Salvon Ahmed. In four games this past season, Gaskin carried 10 times for 26 yards and caught four passes on six targets into 28 yards.

  • Dolphins' Myles Gaskin: Placed on IR

The Dolphins put Gaskin on injured reserve Tuesday. Gaskin was inactive Christmas Day against Green Bay due to an illness, and he'll now miss the remainder of the regular season after going on IR. There's a possibility that he could return for the AFC Championship Game if Miami advances that far, though Gaskin probably wouldn't have a major role in that scenario. He finishes the regular season with just 37 offensive snaps, carrying the ball 10 times for 26 yards and turning four catches on six targets into 28 yards.

  • Dolphins' Myles Gaskin: Inactive versus Packers

Gaskin (illness) is inactive for Sunday's game against the Packers. Given that Gaskin has carried just 10 times for 26 yards through four appearances this season, his absence doesn't have much of a fantasy impact. Salvon Ahmed is on hand to provide backfield support Sunday behind Raheem Mostert and Jeff Wilson.

  • Dolphins' Myles Gaskin: Listed as questionable

Gaskin (illness) is questionable for Sunday's matchup against Green Bay, Rob Demovsky of ESPN.com reports. Gaskin landed on the injury report Friday as a non-participant due to an illness and is considered questionable for the Christmas Day matchup. Jeff Wilson (hip) is also questionable after being limited at practice throughout Week 16 prep, so Miami's backfield depth could be tested against Green Bay. However, Gaskin has rushed only 10 times for 26 yards across 37 offensive snaps in four appearances this season, so his potential absence shouldn't have a major impact on the Dolphins' offensive game plan.

  • Dolphins' Myles Gaskin: Healthy scratch for Week 14

Gaskin (coach's decision) is inactive for Sunday's game against the Chargers. Gaskin dealt with shoulder and ankle injuries recently but wasn't on the injury report for Sunday's Week 14 tilt. He'll be a healthy scratch against the Chargers, leaving Raheem Mostert, Jeff Wilson and Salvon Ahmed as the team's three active running backs.

  • Dolphins' Myles Gaskin: Back in full Wednesday

Gaskin (shoulder) practiced fully Wednesday, David Furones of the South Florida Sun Sentinel reports. Gaskin was ruled out last weekend against the Raiders after logging a limited session that Friday, but his ability to begin Week 14 prep with full activity levels in practice suggests that he'll be ready to roll for Sunday night's matchup versus the Chargers. If that's indeed the case, it's likely the 25-year-old won't see much action anyway with Raheem Mostert and Jeff Wilson impressing the coaching staff as of late.

  • Dolphins' Myles Gaskin: Deemed questionable for Sunday

Gaskin (shoulder) is questionable for Sunday's matchup against the 49ers, David Furones of the South Florida Sun Sentinel reports. Gaskin was sidelined for the first two practices of Week 13 prep due to a shoulder injury, but he returned Friday as a limited participant and is officially questionable for Sunday. However, even if he's available, it's unlikely Gaskin garners a substantial offensive role with Raheem Mostert back in the mix following a one-game absence due to a knee issue.

  • Dolphins' Myles Gaskin: Sidelined again Thursday

Gaskin (shoulder) was not present for the Dolphins' practice Thursday, Daniel Oyefusi of the Miami Herald reports. Gaskin did not practice for the second day in a row after popping up with a shoulder injury on Wednesday's injury report. The 25-year-old will now have just one more chance to increase his practice activity Week 13, or else he'll likely be sidelined for Sunday's game versus San Francisco. Gaskin has been a healthy scratch most weeks in the Dolphins' crowded running backs room this season, though he saw his highest usage of the year with Raheem Mostert (knee) inactive Week 12. If both backs are unable to play, then Salvon Ahmed would be in line for increased touches versus the 49ers.

  • Dolphins' Myles Gaskin: Sits out Wednesday's practice

Gaskin didn't practice Wednesday due to shoulder and ankle injuries, David Furones of the South Florida Sun Sentinel reports. With Raheem Mostert (knee) sidelined, Gaskin saw season highs in offensive snaps (24) and rushing attempts (six) during Week 12, but he appears to have picked up a pair of injuries as well. The extent of the shoulder and ankle issues remain unclear, but the backup running back will have two more opportunities to practice before Miami needs to make a decision on his status for Sunday's matchup against San Francisco.

  • Dolphins' Myles Gaskin: Still healthy scratch post-deadline

Gaskin (coach's decision) is inactive for Sunday's matchup against the Bears. Gaskin will be a healthy scratch for a third consecutive game. There was speculation that Gaskin's role may increase in Week 9 after Miami traded Chase Edmonds to Denver, but newly acquired Jeff Wilson is active, leaving Gaskin out of the mix again. As long as Raheem Mostert, Salvon Ahmed and Wilson are healthy, it seems unlikely Gaskin will be available moving forward.

  • Dolphins' Myles Gaskin: Healthy scratch once again

Gaskin (coach's decision) is inactive for Sunday's game against the Steelers. Gaskin will be a healthy scratch for a second consecutive week since the Dolphins' other running backs are all available. Raheem Mostert, Chase Edmonds and Salvon Ahmed will be available out of the backfield Sunday.

  • Dolphins' Myles Gaskin: Healthy scratch Week 6

Gaskin (coach's decision) is a healthy inactive for Sunday's game against the Vikings. Even though he gained 33 yards on seven touches (four carries, three receptions) and played more snaps (13) than No. 2 back Chase Edmonds (nine) in the 40-17 loss to the Jets in Week 5, Gaskin will find himself in street clothes Sunday. The return of Salvon Ahmed from a one-game absence due to a back injury looks like it might have been enough to bump Gaskin to the inactive list. Gaskin is ahead of Ahmed in the pecking order out of the backfield, but Ahmed's ability to contribute on special teams was deemed more useful than having Gaskin on hand as extra depth behind starter Raheem Mostert.

  • Dolphins' Myles Gaskin: Involved in divisional loss

Gaskin had four carries for nine yards and caught three of five targets for 24 yards during Sunday's 40-17 loss to the Jets. Gaskin saw opportunities behind Raheem Mostert after Chase Edmonds presumably was benched due to continued drops, effectively making him Miami's third-down back. It remains to be seen whether Edmonds will be back in the coaching staff's good graces for Week 6's matchup against the Vikings.

  • Dolphins' Myles Gaskin: Buried behind Edmonds and Mostert

Gaskin did not log an offensive snap during Sunday's 20-7 win over the Patriots. Gaskin was active Week 1, but his involvement versus New England was limited to five snaps on special teams even with Salvon Ahmed (heel) sidelined. With the Dolphins' rushing engine operating efficiently through Chase Edmonds and Raheem Mostert, Gaskin's only fantasy value at the moment is as an insurance policy.

  • Dolphins' Myles Gaskin: Limited Wednesday

Gaskin was a limited participant during Wednesday's practice due to a neck injury, Daniel Oyefusi of the Miami Herald reports. Gaskin finds himself as one of three Miami running backs who were listed as limited participants Wednesday, leaving Raheem Mostert as the only healthy running back to start the week. The extent of Gaskin's neck injury remains unclear, but it's hard to project what the Dolphins' backfield will look like Week 1 with the majority of their running backs currently banged up.

  • Dolphins' Myles Gaskin: Fares well in preseason finale

Gaskin rushed six times for 39 yards in Miami's 48-10 preseason win over the Eagles on Saturday. Gaskin helped the Dolphins combine for more than 200 rushing yards against Philadelphia, but his chances of securing a spot on the final roster still can't be guaranteed. With Miami having revamped the backfield, all of Chase Edmonds, Raheem Mostert and Sony Michel now seemingly reside above Gaskin on the depth chart. Even if Gaskin does make it through roster cuts, he will only stand to handle a depth role.

  • Dolphins' Myles Gaskin: Part of crowded backfield

Gaskin has further competition for backfield snaps following the Dolphins' signing of Sony Michel, Marcel Louis-Jacques of ESPN reports. The Dolphins previously added Chase Edmonds and Raheem Mostert (knee) this offseason, while fellow returnee Salvon Ahmed received a contract tender from the team. Collectively, the moves provide first-year coach Mike McDaniel with a deep backfield with which to work, but in terms of Gaskin's fantasy prospects, steady volume figures to be an issue when all the key RB cogs are available. The 25-year-old led Miami with 173 carries (for 612 yards) in 17 games last season while adding 49 catches for 234 yards and recording seven total TDs in that span.

  • Dolphins' Myles Gaskin: Plays second fiddle in loss

Gaskin had five carries for 23 yards during Sunday's 34-3 loss to the Titans. Gaskin also failed to secure his only target, while once again surrendering the lead role to Duke Johnson (seven carries for 49 yards). Though Gaskin was relatively efficient with limited work, he saw slim opportunities for fantasy success on a day in which Tua Tagovailoa fell flat and looked unable to move Miami into scoring range. A regular-season finale against the Patriots could once again position the Dolphins' offense to be stifled, and Gaskin can no longer be considered a lock to receive the bulk of the touches out of the backfield.

  • Dolphins' Myles Gaskin: Only four touches

Gaskin rushed three times for 10 yards and caught one of three targets for six yards in Monday night's 20-3 win over the Saints. Gaskin saw his workload decrease for a second straight week, as last game's breakout saw Duke Johnson earn a large role alongside Phillip Lindsay, who returned from injury to play for the first time since Week 12. Although Johnson and Lindsay tied for Miami's team lead with 13 carries apiece, neither tailback topped 40 yards. As a result, it'll be interesting to see how the Dolphins divide their backfield snaps in Week 17 versus the Titans, but considering his dip in usage the past couple games, Gaskin may have to earn back his starter's share while being subjected to a committee approach.

  • Dolphins' Myles Gaskin: Cedes lead role to Johnson in win

Gaskin rushed 10 times for 54 yards and wasn't targeted in Sunday's 31-24 win over the Jets. Gaskin was activated from the reserve/COVID-19 list Friday, so he had limited practice reps heading into this game and thus ceded the majority of the workload to Duke Johnson, who rushed for 107 yards and two touchdowns on 22 attempts. The strong performance from Johnson could prompt the Colts to keep him in a timeshare with Gaskin, if not the lead role, in Week 16 against the Saints.
