Broncos' Chris Manhertz: Moving to Denver
Manhertz is slated to sign a two-year, $6 million deal with the Broncos, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
Manhertz will join his fourth team as he goes into his eighth season. Primarily a blocking specialist, he's never caught more than six passes in a season. With Greg Dulcich and Albert Okwuegbunam ahead of Manhertz on the depth chart, expect him to continue a similar role with his new team.

Jaguars' Chris Manhertz: Just six catches in 2022
Manhertz played in all 17 games during the 2022 regular season and caught six of eight targets for 42 yards.
The 30-year-old primarily served as a blocking tight end for the Jaguars once again in 2022, and he was rarely targeted in the passing game. Jacksonville enters the offseason with major question marks at tight end, since starter Evan Engram, Manhertz and fellow backup Dan Arnold are all scheduled to hit free agency. Luke Farrell is currently the only tight end under contract with the Jaguars for 2023.

Manhertz played 27 of the Jaguars' 67 snaps on offense and turned his lone target into a 21-yard reception in Sunday's 36-22 win over the Titans.
Manhertz came through with his first 20-plus-yard reception of the season, as he entered Sunday's contest with five receptions for 21 yards over his first 13 appearances. Manhertz caught one of two targets for seven yards during Sunday's 27-20 win over the Raiders.
Manhertz tied a season high with 36 offensive snaps but still played only a minor role in Jacksonville's aerial attack. No. 1 tight end Evan Engram briefly left the contest with a back issue, but he returned to the field and is expected to be good to go for Week 10. Even if Engram were to miss time, Manhertz would likely still primarily function as a blocker.

Manhertz played 26 of the Jaguars' 73 offensive snaps in Sunday's 13-6 loss to the Texans, finishing with two receptions for 15 yards on two targets.
After his first catch of 2022 last week against the Eagles went for no gain, Manhertz was credited with positive yardage for the first time all season Week 5. With snap shares between 28 and 48 percent through each of the Jaguars' first five games, Manhertz looks secure as the top backup to No. 1 tight end Evan Engram, but the 6-foot-6, 255-pound Manhertz will operate almost exclusively as a blocker whenever he's on the field.

Jacob Hollister and Luke Farrell both saw a bit more playing time, but Hollister was the only Jaguars tight end to be a factor in the passing game with three catches for 14 yards. Manhertz, who joined Jacksonville on a two-year, $6.65 million deal in March, suited up in all 17 games but finished with just six receptions for 71 yards and a touchdown. Manhertz wasn't targeted on 27 offensive snaps during Sunday's loss to the Jets, and he's now looks to be at risk of missing the Jaguars' Week 17 game against the Patriots. Luke Farrell (illness) also landed on the COVID-19 list, leaving James O'Shaughnessy and Jacob Hollister as the only available tight ends on the roster.

Manhertz caught his only target for seven yards during Thursday's 24-21 loss to the Bengals.
Manhertz started and led Jacksonville's tight ends with 24 offensive snaps, but Dan Arnold, Luke Farrell and Jacob Hollister all saw double-digit snaps. Most notable is Arnold, as he was only acquired from the Panthers on Monday and caught both his targets for 29 yards in his debut with the Jags. Manhertz should continue to play regular snaps as a blocking specialist, but Arnold should see more and more playing time as he gets more accustomed to his new offense.

Jaguars' Chris Manhertz: Not targeted in defeat
Manhertz wasn't targeted and played 25 offensive snaps during Sunday's 31-19 loss to Arizona.
The 29-year-old received the start at tight end with James O'Shaughnessy (knee) on injured reserve, but Jacob Hollister ended up leading the position group with 46 offensive snaps. Hollister caught only two of six targets for 15 yards, while Luke Farrell played only 17 snaps and caught his lone target for minus-1 yard. The Jaguars clearly were unhappy with what they were seeing out of their tight ends and opted to acquire Dan Arnold from the Panthers on Monday, who will be a candidate to immediately take over the starting role.

Manhertz could have an increased role with James O'Shaughnessy (ankle) facing an indefinite absence, John Reid of The Florida Times-Union reports.
Manhertz wasn't targeted and played only 27 offensive snaps during Sunday's loss to Denver despite the fact O'Shaughnessy went down early with the injury. Luke Farrell caught one pass for six yards while playing 36 offensive snaps and may be the team's new top option at tight end in the passing game. Manhertz should continue to play plenty of snaps with O'Shaughnessy out, but he'll likely continue to see most of his work as a blocker.

Jaguars' Chris Manhertz: Scores on lone target
Manhertz caught his only target for a 22-yard touchdown during Sunday's 37-21 loss to Texans.
The 29-year-old was expected to begin the season as the starting tight end after inking a two-year, $6.65 million deal in the offseason, but James O'Shaughnessy ended up receiving the nod. Manhertz played only 35 percent of the offensive snaps, but he still was able to secure the second touchdown of his career. He won't have much relevance in fantasy even if he takes over the starting role given the lack of receiving production throughout his career as he continues to work mostly as a blocker.
